I worked at Allina Health full-time (Less than a year)
My manager communicated to me that they were receiving praise of my work from others outside our immediate department
Great benefits, especially for a part time position
Many available hours
Excellent learning environment for nursing students in employee roles
Little schedule flexibility; difficult to find others in your job class who could and will swap in scheduling problems
Scheduling difficult to coordinate with BSN requirements, despite management promises of accomodation
Advice to Management
Communicate schedule expectations clearly to new employees. Avoid promising flexibility for rigorous academic programs that you won't be able to accommodate. It's fine that the flexibility isn't available, but it would be more honest and fair to prospective employees and current employees to be up front about this. Honesty and transparency will help recruit and retain top talent at all levels of organization and in all disciplines.
