 The Silver Lining was launched in 2010 through the passion of Appirians who have made giving back and sustainability part of their personal and professional lives.

The mission of The Silver Lining is to leverage Appirio’s time, talent, and technology for social good by mobilizing and supporting employees in delivering measurable impact throughout the communities where we live and work.

We support this mission through three initiatives:

  • Cloud Acceleration Projects:  We provide pro-bono professional services to support the adoption of cloud technologies in a select number of nonprofits each year. Targeted projects have included Code2040 and Perkins School for the Blind.

  • Company-Sponsored Group Volunteer Activities:  We coordinate ongoing group volunteer opportunities for employees, including volunteer events during new employee orientation, regional volunteer events throughout the year, and one global corporate-wide volunteer day each year. These volunteer opportunities are designed to build team while enabling employees to make a tangible difference in their local community.

  • Paid Volunteer Time Off: We believe in supporting and sustaining a culture of volunteerism throughout the company by providing eight hours of paid time off each year to jump start an employee’s pursuit of a personally meaningful volunteer activity on company time.

Appirio has contributed over 29,000 hours of community and pro–bono services and has provided over $565,000 in cash and product donations to charitable causes through the Silver Lining.

Chris Barbin, CEO

Chris has been CEO of Appirio since its inception, guiding the technology-enabled services company to become one of the thought leaders in cloud computing. Chris brings extensive operations, consulting, professional and technical experience to Appirio, and has grown the company to more than 2,000 cloud experts across the globe. He has been named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, and has been recognized by the New York Times for his leadership philosophy.

Fun Facts:

  1. Frequently found wearing flip flops & jeans.
  2. Favorite vacation spot is Mexico and really enjoys tequila.
  3. He is a running fanatic.

Sudeept Maharana, Senior Director

Sudeept Maharan is the leader for the Workday Practice in India, specializing in HCM, Finance, and Cloud management. He is passionate and is always engaged in learning about how technology is transforming industries and people. His educational background is in computer engineering and went to a top 15 T-School in India. Sudeept has worked in organizations such as KPMG, Oracle, IBM, and LG bringing deep knowledge in professional services and implementation of futuristic technologies to Appirio. Throughout his career he has lived and worked all over the world including the USA, UK, Sweden, and India.

Fun facts:

  1. Sudeept's son traveled to 26 countries before he turned 2.
  2. India's 1st Workday Financials Certified consultant.
  3. Married to Jasmine and has a 3-year-old son.

Amit Chauhan, Director PM CoE & Governance

Amit is an obsessed calm meditator and takes great pride in his observation and learning skills. Over his 15 year career, his experience spans delivering results across different cultures, organizations, industries and verticals. Throughout his career, he has been involved in different functions of IT including Sales, Software Product Development, Consulting, and Infrastructure. After many successful years at the IT Advisory consulting firm, KPMG, he was drawn to Appirio's gamified culture and urge to see how cloud transforms business and streamlines processes. At Appirio, Amit has built a strong team of 10+ project managers. The team has 7 scrum masters along with other highly esteemed technical certifications and manages a project delivery portfolio size of $20M+. Amit streamlined the overall Delivery and Operations experience by moving it to a transparent and quantifiable metric, which helps to identify and spotlight over 80+ projects. He is also actively contributing to Global Governance, PM center of excellence, and the Wipro Integration. In the future, Amit plans to further scale his team and make them world class Project Managers with global awards and accreditations.

  1. Travelling and interacting with new cultures.
  2. Enjoys learning on topics like Mind-Matter, Stellar Astronomy etc..
  3. Tries to be up-to-date with all the latest technology trends.

Prakash Gyamlani, Director Consulting Services

Prakash started his career teaching programming languages, but had the desire to get into IT. He was fortunate to work on the first bi-lingual banking software “Banc-mate”. In 2008, upon joining Metacube, was when he first heard about Salesforce. Even though he had experience in Java/J2EE, he was hired to work as a developer on the Salesforce platform. In 2013, Prakash chose to join Appirio upon the opening of an office in India. It was a great move for him to get more exposure into Salesforce and now be part of a bigger organization with the Wipro Acquisition. In the last 8 years, Prakash has grown his skills both in technology as well as people management and now has over 17 years of experience. He still remembers when he first heard about Appirio and Salesforce and was very skeptical to change, but now he feels that It was really the best decision for his career to grow. Now Prakash is serving in a new role where he is working with his team on growing their skills, focusing on learning and training, and creating the right atmosphere in terms of quality of delivery. He is very proud to be part of the unique go to market strategy of the Virtuous Cycle.

Fun facts:

  1. Initially went to school to become an accountant, but after one computer programming course his career trajectory changed!
  2. Has 2 children.
  3. Received his first certification within 2 months of his first role within IT.

    I applied through other source. I interviewed at Appirio (Jaipur, Rajasthan) in July 2017.


    The interview process is very much easy as every round is an elimination round. First round was a test based on java or non java for those who did not know java, The test is of 70 marks 20 ques are of 1 marks each, 20 ques of guessing the output of the code given and 2 ques of 5 marks each for coding simple coding questions.
    Those who clear this round will move to the Technical Interview just brush up the basics of all the skills mentioned in the resume nothing will be asked outside your resume or your engineering subjects.
    Once you clear this round you will move to Cultural Round again in this you may be asked to write some code , or you must be evaluated about your personality , How much you know about the company. My advice would be to go through company's website before going for the drive and should know about company.
    After this round if you clear this you move to hiring manager round it is similar to the cultural round where some senior manager will take your interview.
    Last round is the HR round in which they asks you why this company, introduction they just check your confidence that is it.
    My advice would be just be confident and should revise the basics before going for the drive.
