I have been working at CarGurus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great management, respect for personal time, fast paced, collaborative, consumer centric, no crazy deadlines.

    Cons

As the company grows, there's more and more bureaucracy and less of a startup like culture.

    Senior Software Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY (US)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

The process took a week. I interviewed at CarGurus (New York, NY (US)).

    Interview

Pretty straightforward process. Starting with phone screen. Interviewer asked me how I would analyze and resolve web page performance problem. Followed by medium/easy leetcode question. Followed by very easy SQL queries.

I answered all of the questions

After few days recruiter responded saying the interviewer didn't like my answers and hence not moving forward with the process. I answered all questions and executed my code completely. It's very strange to see companies responding this way.

Company Updates

  • Sarah Welch, Chief Marketing Officer, shared a version of the letter she sent to Facebook last week announcing our decision to suspend our advertising for July for both our CarGurus U.S. and Autolist platforms. As a company, we stand against hate speech, racism, and discrimination of any kind.

  • We want to give a belated Father’s Day shout out to our community. Whether you yourself are a dad, you’re missing your dad, or you took time to honor the dads in your life – past and present – who have made an impact on you, we hope you had an enjoyable weekend. Below is an excerpt from one our Remote Stories series that recently highlighted Kurt Bolgen on our Dealer Relations team.
