I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Credit Karma (San Francisco, CA (US)) in June 2013.
I applied online via job boards Dice.com and got contacted by HR in a few days. After two phone interviews with different HR people, I was moved on to having a phone screen with a Development Manager. Most questions during the phone screen stage focused on my background and experiences. Two weeks later, I was informed that they would like to have an on-site interview.
The entire process of on-site interview was designed really good and friendly. First, I met one HR person, who helped me along the process. Then, I met one Development Manager, who the role I applied will report to, and then met two engineers. Both 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 interviews required white-boarding. After that, two engineers took me for the lunch and VP of Engineering showed up after we came back from the lunch. Those rounds primarily focused on behavioral questions.
I was really impressed with everyone's professional performances and company's atmosphere as a great start-up. One of best interview experiences I've ever gone through.
