I worked at Currys PC World full-time (More than a year)
The number one pro for working for Currys is the team you working with is always great with great personalities, some I'm friend with to this day. It's a very good experience for a first or second job but not for long term because it's not a rewarding job. It's a great job because of how much you need to learn, also because this is a target driven environment which will be very useful to mention in future job interview when you eventually move on.
Overall it was great experience for me personally because I had the pleasure to work and learn many technology products and 10% discount isn't the best but you get 30% discount on phone contracts from Carephone Wearhouse.
In conclusion if you someone who's interested about technology products this is just the role for you because Curry's is the leader in this field nation wide also if you looking to be challenged and working towards targets.
Something I must mention though is you will have to learn about your department so expect to learn and put effort not just turn up with no motivation to learn.
The main reason people rate Currys down is the target system in which many of the targets are unrealistic and in some situation it really is about targets more than the customers need.
It depends from store to store and different managers approach targets differently. I rarely seen anyone in the store hit all targets so you wouldn't necessarily get sacked for not hitting targets but most people quit because if you hit the targets or not you still get paid the same also you're asked to go to your manager every sale to discuss the sale all this while the currys waiting and in his mind he's wondering all I came for here is a TV, I don't need a 60£ cable and 100£ TV mount as well as other products that I Will never use like Picture Perfect. which brings me to the point of their failed commission system which really does need revising because it doesn't work. If I hit all my targets and my colleague does not hit any targets I should not be paid the same, it's common sense. And this lead to some team members having the attitude of why should I put extra work and stress to hit all my targets where I will still get paid the same If I don't put any effort.
Advice to Management
You need to ask yourself why people are quitting all the time. Surely there must be a reason. Also fix the commission system as well as more realistic and achievable targets. Some manages need to step back a little and give room for creativity for sales people and offer help in more constructive way. Having the manager around the corner pretending he's doing something while listening to salesman conversations with customers is really disrespectful and it make me feel disgusted and not trusted.

Very easy, very informal and laid back. Applied online and got a call back from store manager within 3 weeks i suppose. On the phone he asked me a few very basic questions ie what im doing now and what im looking for. He then invited me in. At the interview, we went through my cv with interviewer and started the job 2 days after.
