    Business Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England (UK)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fever (London, England (UK)).

    Interview

I got an email 2 weeks after I applied online to meet them in person the following day. First round, like others said, is a 2-hour (!) interview where they do a nice job presenting the company followed by some standard interview questions. It's important to note here that they try really hard to come across as having the bar extremely high and are quite arrogant. Then the next round is a 2-hour SHL test for which you are given very limited time to complete. After I took the test, the hiring manager shared with me the results of another candidate initially. After they found my correct results they told me that the math part is "lower than we usually accept for our candidates but we'll pass you to the next round (!) and now we want you to meet our CEO and then as a final stage do a case presentation". It might be interesting to mention here that I have a GMAT score of 750 and an MBA from a Top-10 US business school and have worked for tech companies all around the world... The hiring manager is 3 years out of undergrad and has never lived outside their hometown... I then asked about the salary *range* and the hiring manager kept repeating "it depends" without sharing even a range, which is the global standard. They only said "it really varies" (hint: that's why it's called a range!) and "we would pay for the right candidate" and that "it's commission-based". Then they scheduled me the interview with the CEO, but never confirmed with me the time and never heard anything back ever. Obviously I didn't bother to ask at this point because I wouldn't even consider talking to them again. Besides their terrible communication skills, these people have no idea what they are doing at least recruiting-wise (but judging from the reviews here their operations are not in a better state either). In the interview they mentioned about 20 times that they are very "data driven" and the hiring manager even bragged about having to fire the previous manager in London because of poor company performance in this market. The impression I got (assisted by a simple LinkedIn search) is that the company is staffed by a bunch of 20-year old Spaniards who think they are building the next Netflix only because they worked a year at McKinsey or Amazon Spain before. Overall: tremendous attitude, unfounded entitlement, poor communications skills, and lack of EQ and self-consciousness. Tech professionals, don't even bother here, they won't be around for long.
