I have been working at Hothead Games full-time (More than 5 years)
A great company that has seen success in a growing yet competitive market.
-perks (gym, benefits, snacks, lunches, ski passes, sporting events, beer kegs)
-new projects regularly
-able to make a difference/contribute to overall success of company
-growth opportunities limited in some departments
-processes could use more structure
Advice to Management
-invest in new concepts, but kill under performing ones quicker
-regularly invite feedback/new ideas from all departments (and follow-up when received)
-build even better employee intro process
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hothead Games (Vancouver, BC (Canada)).
Interviewers seemed nice but they were pretty disorganized. They didn’t seem to want to be at the interview. The interview felt rushed and I didn’t get to ask the questions I wanted to ask about the company. They asked me some fairly simple questions. Some of the questions were focused on whether I played and enjoyed video games.
Because the interview process was such a mess, I decided not to work here. It was really that bad.
