    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Indian Navy (Bengaluru) in July 2011.

    Interview

The interview is after an all India entrance exam. A small percentage of the top few are shortlisted and called for the Service Selection Board(SSB) Interview to Bangalore or Bhopal. Return fare is paid to all the candidates appearing for the interview and the SSB goes around for a period of 3 days. The first phase is the IQ test during which 3/4 of the candidates are weeded out. Than a detailed Resume is asked to be filled. followed by a battery of Indoor Psychological tests(mostly written) conducted. Day 2, is when the outdoor psychological tests are conducted where a Group Task Officer(GTO) is assessing you for your leadership qualities. The last day is the board interview where you come in front of a board which finally decides your fate. The candidates who clear the interview have to undergo a rigorous medical exam which lasts for another 3 to 4 days.
