I worked at LateRooms.com full-time (More than a year)
The most innovative and helpful IT team I have ever worked with. Lots of socialising outside of work which every so often would be attended by one of the directors who was happy to pick up the tab. Really friendly and helpful colleagues who were happy to assist and share. A bleeding edge tech stack for the new developments. Good communication at townhalls
Having to occasionally support the legacy stack.
Other parts of the company were reducing in size as the focus changes which did affect the atmosphere
Advice to Management
Invest in the new tech and retire the old. Keep paying attention to the social side of things
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at LateRooms.com (Manchester, England (UK)) in January 2013.
Pair programming exercise with a 30 min time limit, 1 to 1 interview to discuss your development experience focusing primarily on how much unpaid out of hours self training you did per week and how much Test Driven Development experience you had. There was also an emphasis on peer pressure to attend regular weekend developer TDD conferences (in London) again unpaid and expected to be self funded as far as entrance tickets, hotels etc.

Last Friday the LateRooms office welcomed 38 children for our annual "Bring your kids to work day". We're still recovering from the chaos!
