They say big things often have small beginnings, and this was true for MetricStream. Of course, we didn’t start our business in a garage, or a backyard, or a store room, but it sure was a beginning I will remember forever.
I remember walking into a multi-storied building in Hyderabad in a posh locale with well-maintained glass doors, receptionists, and security guards. I was escorted into a room where our co-founder interviewed me and offered the position of a software engineer. Hell, yeah! I knew I was joining a startup and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of a journey which had such small beginnings. Soon, I realized the room where I was interviewed was a rented office space and that we really didn’t have an office in India. And that’s when I really fell in love with the journey that was about to unfold. That was the package I was waiting to open which was full of opportunities, challenges, excitement, and happiness -- a journey which had endless potential.
It has been over 15 years since that day. Well, 15 years and 4 months to be precise. We have come a long way and travelled very far. Some of us probably saw all four seasons several times. We grew from one person to thousands, from one tiny rented room to multiple office spaces in different countries, from no products to several products, from one partner to many partners, and from one client to hundreds of clients. There is this immense sense of pride, sense of achievement, and feeling of joy when I see our company standing so tall in our space, among our competitors, among our partners and with our customers… especially when our beginning was so small.
