I worked at Pivotal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company inherited good product portfolio from EMC and VMware and have good backing from its parents. The talent pool is awesome to take the company to exponential growth path

    Cons

The environment is highly political and all the process smell of bureaucratic mindset. The top management is totally clueless on how to leverage the talent pool and don't even know basics of product development. They live in their own world without paying any attention to employees. Its more tough for employees located outside US region. One day you are rewarded and other day you are given pink slip. A dangerous place to build career.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to your employees. Look into the cultural aspect and start paying attention to remote locations like Pune, China etc.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pivotal in May 2018.

    Interview

    1. A phone interview with an HR Representative
    2. A Technical one hour interview to see if you can use TDD/Pair programming and to validate your technical skills
    3. An all day, onsite interview working with a team at pivotal

They have a great company, intense interview process, and great values. The HR reps I worked with were very nice, flexible with my interview schedule, and very helpful throughout.
