I have been working at Southland Transportation part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great place. The majority of drivers consists mostly of mature drivers, and responsibly adult who care about community and show their committed by providing safe transportation to their customers, and by being role model to other motorists. Drivers can apply to park out their buses (mainly smaller buses) at home and not having to worry about driving to the yard in the morning. Southland does provide free class 2S training however is a three month commitment/contract so should the candidate resign their employment withing the three months the employee is liable for the cost of training. The pay can actually be quite good.

    Cons

The training is to be taken very serious as you can easily be let go at anytime during the training as I've seen people attend training for a few weeks to only be let go. The candidate is not paid during training. Dealing with certain students can be difficult to deal with as they won't respect the drivers, nor school authority.
