    Pros

    Good location. Fairly good package.
    Free beer and subsidised lunches.

    Cons

    Do have a lobbying culture(Friends prefer friends) in pockets, in highly paying technology teams. Certain expat team members do not speak English or the Dutch, lots of time even even while working, making it nearly impossible for rest to comprehend.
    Workers council need to look into this matter.

    Advice to Management

    Instead of relying too much on internal referral schemes for recruiting high-paying roles, do advertise on popular Dutch and EU job boards, so that more local candidates could apply brining in real talent & healthy competition.
    -Instead of sending recruitment tests via email (which could potentially be leaked by internal referrals to their friends) use independent test solutions like hackerrank, codility, Devskiller etc
    - Listen to interview reviews given by external candidates (non-referral candidates) about the interview process.

    Application

    I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at albelli (Amsterdam (Netherlands)) in December 2018.

    Interview

    After applying online to the position, I received a call from the recruiter to set up an initial conversation. The first interview with HR was to understand my experience and expectations and to present an overview of the company.

    Then I received a technical assignment to build a REST API following some requirements. The test demanded around 4 to 6 hours, but there are no time constraints for it.

    Next phase was a technical interview with the team members who reviewed the tech assignment, there were questions related to the test and technical questions in general, including topics like performance, application's monitoring, LINQ (.NET) and so on.

    Then I had a non-technical interview with the team manager and the recruiter, they wanted to know what I value in a job and about my soft skills. They also presented more details about the company.

    Finally, they invited me to visit the company in Amsterdam and I had a face to face interview including pair programming and meetings with the teams. Next day they invited me to the office and presented me an offer.

    The whole process was smooth and well communicated, and I was very well welcomed by the team during the in-person interview.
