What is one positive in this area?

Excellent healthcare plan and the opportunity to learn about the world at large. We are focused on assisting clients and working but there is also an opportunity to learn about and interact with your peers during work hours about their lives outside of work. Those are some of the best and most memorable moments.

What is one area that could be improved?

The company is going through an immense amount of change and is trying to move from a mindset of "scaling" to a mindset of "innovating" which requires a pretty major change in culture that can feel like it's happening at a glacial pace. But if you're OK with that level of constant change, it's a great place to be. Additionally, we tend to lack functional expertise at the senior level. The leaders are good humans, they're just more generalists vs. not always an expert in their function which can be frustrating for some people, but I don't mind it.

What is one positive in this area?

Representation matters and in my department and company-wide I see people that look like me. Many are in leadership roles and that is really important when thinking about advancement opportunities. Also, the Glassdoor does a great job at building communities for all diverse groups and interest. I truly feel acknowledged and valued.

What is one area that could be improved?

During onboarding, it would be great to have scheduled syncs with our cohort instead of the ad hoc approach in scheduling them. Otherwise, everything has been great thus far!

What is one positive in this area?

In the last year, the company has made many efforts to prioritize initiatives that support DEI goals and being transparent about the process. The flourishing and vibrant ERGs are a huge testament to that.

What is one area that could be improved?

I do believe the C-suite wants to have a more diverse company. However, I also believe part of that improvement starts at the top. With recent leadership changes, there are opportunities to make our leadership team more reflective of the diversity we seek. And I think this will help with retention too.

What is one positive in this area?

My co-workers are incredibly smart, resourceful, and kind. On the days that I don't feel like showing up, they pull me forward. I've done some of the best work of my career because of the people around me.

What is one area that could be improved?

Individuals are great, but sometimes we struggle as an org in wanting to be over-collaborative that it slows down our decision making process

What is one positive in this area?

During the past year, leadership has spent a lot of time and effort clarifying and communicating our vision and strategy, and helping us pave the path to get there.

What is one area that could be improved?

Sometimes we move so quickly that the strategy and how we get to bring our vision to life becomes blurry.

What is one positive in this area?

The benefits package is flexible and affordable for my family. I'm glad they added Modern Health this year enabling me to have free coaching and counseling sessions. I feel like they really listened to employee needs. They also offer a lot of online workout/training options which are really nice. Great on the basics and nice optional additions this year.

What is one area that could be improved?

I would love to see Glassdoor make a more prominent stand on the need for women to have good maternity leave. We only offer 3 months currently this is way too little. I would love to see Glassdoor expand this to 6 months as the Best of the Best companies in the US are doing right now.

What is one positive in this area?

For starters, I love the mission and knowing that in some small way, the work that I do everyday is potentially helping someone improve their life with a job that they love. And I love that we can start All Hands meetings highlighting employees from under represented groups. We are giving our employees a platform to share their experiences and I learn something new every time.

What is one area that could be improved?

Even with as much as I enjoy working at Glassdoor, I still feel some anxiety around our partnership with Indeed and what this means in the long term for GD. I recently learned about another department that is negatively impacted by the partnership, and this makes me sad. While the employees will be well taken care of, it still feels bad when we see job functions becoming obsolete.

What is one positive in this area?

I've always been given a choice to learn as much as I can/want. This has provided me the opportunity to go towards multiple different engineering career paths. I've been actively working with both my direct supervisor, as well as the level up from them to decide the best path for me.

What is one area that could be improved?

I haven't been here long enough to say for sure, but perhaps more extensive documentation and examples for how to advance one's career for various career paths.
