Pros
If anyone can have an opinion about working at 1000heads. It's me. Account Manager, Innovation Director and Ideation Director. I left 1000heads twice. Depending on where you are in your career. Early days this place is like a Forge for awesomeness. The skills, clients and people you work with will 100% set you up for the future. I join new companies and feel the work I was doing at 1000heads 5 years ago was more innovative than what they're doing now. Mid way through your career I'd say it's what ever you want to make it. Easy to moan about managers and leadership when you're unable to motivate yourself and looking for excuses. Mid career I'd say you have the opportunity to set yourself up to be an incredible leader if you put in the effort. I believe that job titles are almost irrelevant at 1000heads. If you want to move teams or create your own role all you need to do is take the initiative. I guarantee leadership would be willing to listen.
Cons
Free beers on a Friday.

Pros
I've worked at bigger agencies in the past, and I have more opportunity here than CCOs did. As a mid-level creative. Pros: - You get the opportunity to work on digital and social creative that directly makes it out onto some of the biggest social media pages and brands in the world. - You can contribute to new business pitches. - Existing accounts and RFPs bring us print, TV, experiential, and social opportunities. - At bigger agencies you're more of a cog in the machine. At this agency you make the machine. - Creative team is talented and hard working. Some people heavy on the talent, some on the hard work. And quite a few people are both. - CD is a top-tier design leader but also gives fantastic copy feedback as well, which is rare for people with design backgrounds. - Accounts people don't get hostile with creatives for no reason. - Accounts people have pride in their brands and 3/3 I've worked with are incredible presenters that instill confidence in the clients. - One of the agency's strong spots is influencer marketing, which sets it apart from other agencies and solidifies its business proposition for future clients as long as influencer marketing will be a thing. - There are tech brand opportunities (helps you build marketable portfolio pieces) - There are fun and quirky brand opportunities (if you're into that sort of thing) - Pay is solid if you demonstrate your value and advocate for it. - Vacation policy is extraordinary. - Benefits are extraordinary. $500 in educational materials for all!! Fitness stipend. Yoga every week. Working at other offices across the world opportunities. Some free food, coffee, blah blah. - As you can tell from the old reviews, the agency was in a difficult spot a few years ago. A group of talented people across experience levels and disciplines fixed it. You get to work with them. - Everything I said about creative opportunities neatly transfers over to the accounts and strategy side of things. If you knock it out of the park, you have the chance to be the sole reason major accounts succeed. Overall, opportunities are everywhere here like no other agency I know of. Your coworkers are driven, talented, and hilarious. And I feel lucky and proud to work here.
Cons
This is an anti-advertising agency. For better and and for worse. - About a year ago, I and several others were working ~60 work weeks for about 3 months straight. It's been gradually getting better and better to where now I average around 40. - The processes differ from account to account, some are anarchy some are really buttoned up. - Everything is democratic so it feels like everything is a compromise which takes the bite out of delivered work. - Sometimes task responsibilities won't be designated, and if you're a proactive individual you'll feel pressure from yourself to step in and fix things, even when it's someone else's job. - Creative team doesn't prioritize winning awards, just making good work. If you do want to make award winning work, you'll have to be the one to start those initiatives. - There will likely come a time in your career here where you have to step in and be the one to save a project to no fault of your own. That includes working long hours and a lot of pressure. This is because pretty much everyone has a direct role in the success of each account. - There’s a lack of mentorship across the board and people are responsible for way more than their experience and skill set justifies. This extends beyond the creative team. - You've seen the negative reviews below, but from my experience in the last year and a half 1000heads has fixed the majority of the issues. Also people say leadership steals ideas? What I’ve experienced there is that leadership invites you in to participate in a bunch of projects you wouldn’t be able to at other agencies. I don't think those people understand how ideas work because if an idea gets 'stolen' you still just claim credit for it in your portfolio.

Pros
Really wonderful people.Fun work environment and lots of great conversation over drinks. Opportunity to get involved in a wide range of areas and experiences. If you’re a go getter you can really carve out your own path here. Very collaborative and everyone can bring ideas to the table. No one is super precious about their creative ideas, process etc. which makes it a great environment for working together to bring the best ideas to life.
Cons
Growing pains / defined processes can be an issue at times.

Cons
It was an all-in-all bad experience. I would echo that of previous reviews that tells a story of an abhorrent vibe and lack of management skills throughout. During my time, the place was on a serious downward spiral and became a terrible place to work. I would advise anyone to get out, as the internal threat of ‘other agencies are worse/just as bad’ is completely untrue and I can guarantee you will find management with more empathy and understanding as to how to motivate a team.
