Pros

Love the work we do and the mission we stand for (providing access to education and to opportunity). Fantastic work life balance, I've never worked on weekends and neither has my team. We work Irish timings and so my mornings are my own to do yoga, read, meditate, which is great. We always get paid on time, and we get paid in Euros. The senior management are consummate professionals who get their work done and are extremely supportive in nature. We have many discussions which is great for getting perspective and for knowing that people have your back. The CEO micromanaged me when I first joined the company, but with time, he's started to trust my work and given me more and more freedom and autonomy (especially when it comes to hiring and building my team and picking the projects I work on). If you show you're capable and can get things done, you'll be given more responsibility and freedom. Fully remote!!! You can work from anywhere as long as your work gets done.

Cons

This isn't like a regular job where you can just do the bare minimum and chill. There are always multiple projects running at the same time and there is pressure to delivery consistently. If you're not used to start-up culture, you may find the sudden change in prioritisation of projects unnerving. The CEO, like any good CEO, has many ideas that he wants to get implemented. If you're not able to have a conversation with him in regards to prioritisation, in regards to work load, and in regards to realistic timelines, you will struggle in this company. If you're unable to balance multiple projects at the same time, and if you're not self-motivated, you'll struggle here. The company is over 15 years old, so sometime there are old ways of doing things, processes to follow and understand. Being fully remote, it takes time to develop trust and rapport with old hands.
