I have been working at ASDA

    Pros

-pretty good hourly pay - reasonably flexible hours - most colleagues are really good to get along with

    Cons

    - you may have to take your training into your own hands - they may cancel your holiday time - they cut down a colleague’s grief period - you aren’t informed about changes to your station/hours.

I have been working at ASDA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay currently £9 an hour Lots of overtime available Flexible hours available as most stores open 24/7 Lots of training opportunities Great leadership team Amazing colleagues who end up being lifelong friends Your work isn't really affected my the amount of customers i.e. when you work in fast food there's rush hours however when you're stocking shelves whether or not your busy the pace of work is the same

    Cons

Can at times in particular departments such as home shopping feel a bit monotonous and boring You will have to deal with lots of rude customers even if your not working tills. Apparently to customers you are invisible so expect to have customers drive trolleys into you or not move out of the way when you're dragging a 6ft tall pallet of microwaves or beer. Also expect annoying questions from customers e.g. on a Sunday you will have at least 5 customers ask you if the shop closes early and when you tell them yes they will get angry and claim the sign outside the store says 24/7 even though Sunday trading laws have been in this country for decades. If you're lazy and don't work properly management will come down on you hard so just don't bother applying here if that's you
