I worked at Aberdeen Asset Management full-time

    Pros

Benefits were amazing. 15% match on the 401k

    Cons

Pay was well below market standards. No room for growth. Impossible to move teams or learn new functions due to the intern program that senior management loves.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the gba program and promote from within. Maybe then your top performers won’t leave.

I have been working at Aberdeen Asset Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, PTO and work life balance.

    Cons

Unfortunately with the acquisition many individuals were either laid off or quit. Those remaining in higher roles remain due to their popularity to clients. Those individuals are truly not great leader. Rather they are arrogant. I’m sure once the dust settles, they will return to their unbecoming behavior.

    Advice to Management

Really look at individuals who produce but lack any leadership qualities.

    Pros

Pension contribution that’s going to change

    Cons

Hardly flexible working especially if you are a parent, more middle management that do nothing and don’t practice what they preach

Get actual qualified managers with people skills
