A+ Culture
10 Nov 2021 - Technology Consultant in Sioux City, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Company is very culture driven. They care a lot about their employees and their needs. It has been a pleasure to work for a business that excels not only externally in their industry amongst B2B but internally within their employees. Proud to be a walking billboard of Access Systems in a Net New territory.
Cons
I have been impressed that any worry or concern I have had has been addressed and has left me more impressed. You can only fix what is talked about, and the management staff does a great job of discussing input, ideas and innovative thinking with its front line staff

Great Company to work for
9 Jun 2021 - IT Sales Engineer in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Access Systems is a great company to work for who treats employees like they are family. They truly put the workers first and not only have a good benefits package, but also has uncountable soft benefits. Company functions are truly events to look forward to, the Christmas parties are completely fun and truly memorable events. The trips typically reserved for elite sales people are extended to as many exceptional employees (and spouses) as possible. The management encourages a good work\life balance and also does whatever they can to ensure you are putting your family first.
Cons
The cons I will share is related to the IT department in a senior position, other departments can be different. If you are looking for a career where there is a series of defined job title changes, with preset salaries, this might not be a good fit. It is expected that you find what you do well sink your teeth in and grow. Salaries are largely based on the profit you bring into the company, and the satisfaction you bring to clients.

Access Systems is by far the best place I have ever worked, and that is saying a lot because I was previously self employed. This is a company that truly cares about it's employees and takes the time to get to know you.

I loved your heading "A Blast"! Thank you for your review and we are thrilled that the transition from self-employed to being part of the Access team has been so positive. Glad that we have entered 2021 and excited to see where this year take us.

Terrific company to work for!
27 Dec 2018 - Sales Manager in Sheldon, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I started working at Access Systems July 10, 2017 in the Sheldon, Ia branch as a Account Executive. From the beginning I knew this was going to be a great company to work for. They do a great job of training you for the position and put you in a position to succeed. I just finished up my first full year of selling and had a great year. We made some big sales with a lot of help from all areas of the company chipping in to help along the way. The culture is very "family oriented" where everyone is pulling on the rope in the same direction to get the job done for their customers. I honestly see myself retiring here. There are lots of options to move up internally in the company, I am now the Sales Manager in the Sheldon branch and they continue to grow as a company. They are growing because of their culture and that starts all the way at the top. Shane, the owner, is a great person that treats his employees like they are extensions of his own family. It trickles down from the top and makes this place different than other companies. You can't go wrong with Access Systems, it has been a breath of fresh air for me and I would recommend them to anyone I know.
Cons
I don't have really anything bad to say about this organization. They are a top class organization.

Choose your own career path
13 Jun 2018 - Anonymous Employee in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've been with Access Systems for over 5 years. In that time, I've had the opportunity to work in 3 different departments under 4 different managers. Every step of the way, I've been able to openly communicate with my managers about my desired career path; what fits well and what I'd like to change. They have all been very open and understanding, supporting me every step of the way. If you join our team, and your current position just isn't the best fit, they offer the openness and flexibility to let you change position or department. You are always in the driver's seat of your own career. I simply cannot say enough good things about working here. Work hard, be honest, and you'll have a job for life.
Cons
Getting your foot in the door can be a challenge. With so many people wanting to join our team, we only select the very best and you must be willing to jump in with both feet. Access Systems demands the highest performance from employees, but if you can meet the challenge, the rewards are well worth the effort.

Great place to work
30 May 2019 - Network Operations Technician in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have been with Access Systems going 4 years in September. Since I started I have never thought I would have found such a great place to work at. Access Systems is a family orientated company and with this type of environment its not hard to have such a positive attitude. Access Systems is the first company I've worked for that will take their employees on award trips, and this is not just the sales staff. I was so grateful that I was a recipient to one of those trips just last year, but trust me they just don't give it away you will need to earn it first, but its not hard working for this company and all the people you will work with If you're looking for a job in the field of technology or selling said technology look no further than Access Systems.
Cons
I cannot think of any Cons to working for Access.

Great Sales Team opportunities , Administrative Role seekers should proceed with caution
26 Sept 2019 - Sales Support Manager in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A great family-oriented working environment with co-workers who care and help each other succeed. People willing to work hard & keep pace do have their efforts rewarded. Excellent work-life balance.
Cons
In any sales and service based company, revenue is king and those who generate it are held in high regard. Access Systems is no different. This can be problematic for administrative and support roles at Access Systems. In the past few years, streamlining of duties and roles has caused higher levels of turnover & increased workloads for team members. This makes for unease among the support staff and concerns about job security, which is usually the kind of situation people who have worked for larger companies have experienced and seek to avoid. Be prepared for high volume and constant change.

Thank you for your review. We understand that our fast pace and ever changing environment is not a good fit for everyone. However, such evolution is critical to allow us to continue to deliver growth and opportunities for our employees. The sales department is the engine that fuels this continued growth which creates more opportunity for everyone at Access. We very much understand this sales growth creates additional work for service and support. We recognize the importance of a strong support staff and have continued to invest in additional team members and making sure we have the right people in the right roles. Our admin and support role turnover of 13% annually is well below industry and regional averages. We’ve experienced a slight uptick in turnover as we’ve emphasized accountability to co-authored performance expectations. In taking this approach, we strive for consistent transparent two-way communication and allow for plenty of opportunities to meet expectations. Access is a high-performing culture where our employees are empowered and surrounded by other high-performing team members.

Pros
I started with Access about five years ago in an industry that had nothing to do with technology, but from the first day everyone was so willing to help me achieve in my sales career. They were so willing to help me understand our products, our processes, and our competitive advantages which helped me build a great career here. I am now a sales manager running an entire branch and I don't know of any other company or employer that believes in there employees more than Access Systems and Shane Sloan.
Cons
Access is a very fast growing company and that almost always leads to some growing pains, however it is so exciting seeing the changes and the strides that we are making together I would not have it any other way. If you are not growing there is no opportunity for advancement.

Pros
Have you ever dreamed about what it would be like to work for a company where the owner of the company was an awesome caring person who cared first and foremost about their employees' success and welfare. And where the culture and atmosphere of the company felt like family and was actually FUN to work at. Where employee recognition was everywhere and the company actually encouraged employees to get involved with local charities and organized many fun events for charities where you felt like you were giving back. Well-------this company does actually exist and it's right here at Access Systems. We work hard but we play even harder. You feel like you are really contributing here and I can't think of a better place to work. I've personally known the owner Shane Sloan for a long time and he is the real deal.
Cons
Some growing pains can be be expected with a company that's been this successful but you easily get thru it.

Amazing Culture & People
5 Feb 2019 - Human Resources Administrative Assistant in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have worked at Access Systems for less than a year but already know that this is where I want to be for the long haul. The core values and belief system reflected here are essential in making our office a great place to work. I am surrounded by many highly driven and successful people who genuinely care about those they work with and giving back to our communities. Our owner and management team encourage employees to develop new skill sets and take on challenging opportunities. I feel very fortunate to be part of such an amazing organization!
Cons
Access is growing quickly and keeping up with the change that comes with growth might be challenging for some.
