RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Aegis Treatment Centers full-time for more than a year
Pros
You are on the front line of the battle with opiate addiction/dependence. Great experience for beginning counselors as well as experienced. Ongoing training and education, supportive supervisors and co-workers.
Cons
Can be emotionally challenging at times. Always a rush at the end of the month to complete billable tasks. Pay is low considering what you have to go through to become a counselor.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Aegis Treatment Centers full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
The wonderful thing about Aegis is the ability to move up in the company. I started as a Counselor/Caseload Manager and within a year I was promoted to the Assistant Clinic Manager Position. The following year I advanced to Clinic Manager and I love my job. I feel rewarded on a daily basis, as we are truly making an impact in our patients' lives. If you are caring, patient and have a passion for helping people, you should apply! I had no idea when I started that I was going to love working in the field of addiction this much. I enjoy it so much that since become licensed, I have chosen to stay with the company rather than starting up my own private practice.
Cons
You need to be good at multitasking and remembering your to-do list to succeed at Aegis. There is always a lot going on and the patients' rely on you.

"Case Manager/Intern"
Doesn't RecommendI worked at Aegis Treatment Centers full-time for less than a year
Pros
Supportive team, learn a lot about addiction/chemical dependancy. Supervisors are knowledgable as well as managers. You gain your intern hours FAST!!!! (You can see any where from 30-40 patients a week).
Cons
Ran by corporate which micromanages (EVERYONE), especially when they come in for audit. They setup counselors/interns to be therapy machines (see as many people as possible). Forbidden to even explore about long-term goals of eventually being able to do it without Methadone because this is how these companies make their money!!! The more I worked here, the more I felt like my ethics were being tested everyday. I started to feel morally wrong to work here. The pay is horrible, might as well work at Costco (Same pay).

RecommendsNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Aegis Treatment Centers full-time for more than a year
Pros
Counselor safe provided with supervision on a weekly basis and will be exposed to a very diverse caseload. If the training that is provided throughout is taken seriously, you will learn a lot.
Cons
Employees tend to get overworked and the pay is not very competitive. They could also work on the insurance plans.

RecommendsNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Aegis Treatment Centers for less than a year
Pros
The other counselors are amazing and very helpful.
Cons
There is a lot of paperwork and not enough time to really spend with patients. It's really too bad that there is not the time since the people are in need of so much help.

RecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Aegis Treatment Centers full-time
Pros
Very supportive staff, in a clean and friendly environment. There was tons of learning experience for new and old counselors, and often not a dull moment. Very fast paced environment.
Cons
Management expected counselors to see 8 people a day. MediCal paper work was a lot, but doable with help and training. The company can't seem to keep counselors.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Aegis Treatment Centers full-time for more than a year
Pros
Great place to get hours towards license. Great experience doing therapy.
Cons
This company takes advantage of medi-cal. They keep the clients on methadone for 20-30 years. Upper management use scare tactics to keep productivity up. There is a huge turn over rate with employees in the clinics. The clinic that I worked at had a 90% turn over rate in a 1 year period. Employees are constantly in fear of being fired. Counselors are paid very little.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Aegis Treatment Centers full-time for more than a year
Pros
The opportunity to work with the clients is very rewarding.
Cons
Counselors are treated terribly and not trained properly. There is a reason why this place is always hiring counselors: counselors are treated like garbage.
