I worked at Aegon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good people however a lot don’t stay around for long. Overtime available regularly

    Cons

Poor pay, they recently upped it for new comers, higher than everyone else that was on floor already which is a bit of a kick in the face. If you’re a contractor stay away - I seen about 6 contractors in one week be taken away into a room and told to leave. Shift pattern can change very last minute. If you have a medical appointment to attend you have to ether do it out with work time, work back the hours or take annual leave. They say holiday entitlement + bank holidays. You’ll never see those bank holidays. You’ll be in the office. Managers don’t know the product, platform and are constantly in “meetings” all day everyday. For what reasons I don’t know. I know recruitment agencies are actually stopping referring people here because they’re getting so much bad feedback.

I have been working at Aegon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good people to work with, and very good benefits as well as bonus pay. On site canteen is great.

    Cons

Office politics get in the way of achieving good results and doing the right thing from the start. People are too concerned with ticking boxes.

I have been working at Aegon

    Pros

Just as most Dutch companies, the work-life balance is (still)good, people are really respectful. The company provides a very good infrastructure, restaurant in company, notebook and iphone to work from home, commuting card to go to other cities by train. Compensation could be better, but it´s enough to provide the basics (I´m looking forward to have a salary promotion or else I´ll look for a better paying job.)

    Cons

Most of the employees are contractors (hired by a third party company that provides services to Aegon). Some employees working for a really long time for Aegon and with a huge experience are at the same level as someone that just joined the company, not sure the reason yet, but the turn over is also very high (may be a lack of career improvement opportunities). The management team promotes employee surveys, meetings, lectures with very motivating people, but when it´s action time we see that they keep things only at proposal level. So maybe, it´s not management that´s really interested in keeingp morale high, it´s just a HR action (btw HR is doing a good work, much better then management team).

I worked at Aegon full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great pay, great bonus, good people, international opportunities. You will learn a lot of good things that will help build your business knowledge. Great opportunities to do multiple jobs within this organization

    Cons

Started to outsource a lot of things to India after 2008. Things became much tighter and poorly ran. Highly political and highly relationship based.
