I have been working at Aer Lingus full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Roster given per month. You can never be called in to work on days off but you can volunteer to work if you wish. - You can bid for your preferred flights or shifts (early/late). Company really tries to satisfy you in that. I usually place from 3 to 8 bids per roster. Mixture of flights, days off, trips etc. I always end up with something I like so my roster is not tragic. - Generally people you work with, other...

    Cons

    - Pay on Transatlantic flights should be way better. - Uniform. Absolute nightmare to work in it. Uncomfortable, too warm, too dated.

    Advice to Management

    - Listen to your crew and their advise - Increase pay on Transatlantic flights as majority of us do mostly these as per company demand but earn much less than on European flights

I have been working at Aer Lingus full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great colleagues, good team work, great airline concessions. In small teams you have a good chance of having a good and engaged manager. Working at outstations other than Dublin is the best way to experience Aer Lingus.

    Cons

Salaries are low, pay increases are unlikely. Performance management is very poor, staff morale is low.

    Advice to Management

You really need to shift your focus back on staff and they employment satisfaction.

I worked at Aer Lingus full-time

    Pros

You can interact with a multi culture team. You can design and leave your stamp.

    Cons

No appreciation for the effort, work and your commitment. There is no management just a blame culture to cover their backs in the ongoing projects. No care about employees.

    Advice to Management

Do a course on basic management and people skills. This is not a sweet kiosk.

    Pros

I have worked here over 15 years and this used to be a great place to work but not anymore. The only positive now is that there is a great group of staff but unfortunately because staff morale is so low many are leaving.

    Cons

Low pay Staff are under too much pressure No feedback given to staff Staff are treated as a liability Long hours no recognition There is a blame culture thriving We were always customer focused and our staff are really good at this but now the only focus is on OTP which has put people under so much pressure we have lost our customer focus which is really sad.
