I worked at Aer Lingus full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The staff at Aer Lingus are some of the best people I’ve worked with. Their is a real sense of pride working here.

    Cons

The company can sometimes come across really mean, there is no budget for social events. Even the Christmas party is just a night out with 1/2 drink tokens. You have to pay for food/coffee/tea even milk which is just madness in this day and age! HR are terrible, it’s so impersonal and as an employee you really don’t feel cared for, you’re just a number and that’s it! Their arrogance is beyond belief at times and they could really do with a total attitude change otherwise they will loose their hard working staff.

I have been working at Aer Lingus full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good team to support you. You always have people to help you when you need help.

    Cons

No flight benefits for vendors. I worked for many Airlines thru vendors and at least we get one flight a year. Aer Lingus give free flight everyone even for other airline employees but not for agents who check in and do gates and that cause a lot of people to resign.

I have been working at Aer Lingus full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Roster given per month. You can never be called in to work on days off but you can volunteer to work if you wish. - You can bid for your preferred flights or shifts (early/late). Company really tries to satisfy you in that. I usually place from 3 to 8 bids per roster. Mixture of flights, days off, trips etc. I always end up with something I like so my roster is not tragic. - Generally people you work with, other crew, are really nice - Basic meals provided on duty. Nothing fancy but plenty of fruit and other things so if you forgot your lunch or are not the type to prepare snacks before hand it's handy. And plentyyy of water provided. - You're paid basic during training and are provided with uniform - Crew transport offered for small fees (depending on proximity to airport) on outside public transport hours

    Cons

    - Pay on Transatlantic flights should be way better. - Uniform. Absolute nightmare to work in it. Uncomfortable, too warm, too dated.
