So glad I left: I hear the "First-Year" excuse is now 0-1% hikes from a former colleague
Pros
The mission of building a Global Capability Center (GCC) in India had a lot of potential early on, and the technical talent being hired is top-tier.
Cons
I moved out in 2025, and after catching up with former colleagues still there, it’s clear the culture has shifted toward a lack of accountability. The recent merit cycle is a disaster that everyone is trying to distance themselves from. • The 0.5% "Hike" Insult: From what I’m hearing, merit increases for the hardworking foundation team were as low as 0.5% to 1%. In the Indian tech market, that isn't a raise; it’s a push toward the exit. • The Accountability Loop: It’s a classic case of finger-pointing. The US leadership reportedly blames the "manual process" of the new India GCC, while India HR tells the staff that all compensation decisions and the meager budget came directly from the US. No one is taking ownership of the fact that people are being underpaid.
