      I worked at AlphaSights

      Pros

AlphaSights is a wonderful foundation for your career. First and foremost, you learn so much about various industries from not only the basic duties of the job, but also from the individuals you communicate with on a daily basis. From this, one can understand what type of industry or company they want their future to be in, whether that is with AlphaSights or in a different sector. The best part of AlphaSights is that...

      Cons

The job is very results driven. If you enjoy competition, networking, and sales, this is a good fit.

      Advice to Management

I have been working at AlphaSights full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

        - Freedom to make substantial change/improvements, albeit must take your own initiative - Company growth is significant so it's profile changes month by month

        Cons

        - Employees of all levels are babied and leadership is bad at having tough conversations/implementing difficult change - Day to day analyst role is repetitive, but almost immediate client interaction

I have been working at AlphaSights full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

Fast growth, challenging yet stimulating work and problem solving, great company culture. This company really believes that people are their strongest asset, and hey hire accordingly. I have never been around this many smart, driven, and fun people in one place. The opportunities are endless and if you are willing to compete and innovate, this is the place for a steep career trajectory. The firm also grows very organically...

        Cons

Not a con for me, but there are many elements of friendly competition and performance can be quantified to a certain extent so there is no hiding behind the desk and scraping by.

        Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing and keep finding new ways to keep the company culture this fun, intimate, and unique. Given this explosive growth, it can be difficult to keep everyone engaged, but the genuine investment of people into their work and the company is what makes this place exceptional.

I worked at AlphaSights full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

really enjoyed my time at AS. sad i had to leave. amazing culture of fun, smart, outgoing people, usually interesting work, get to be at the forefront of investment news, cool office, very cool work/outside of work activities, business outlook is great, company growing extremely fast, hires from top universities, 15 days off + a number of holidays.

        Cons

culture of long hours/work on weekends and holidays is ingrained. this is because AlphaSights is trying to disrupt the big player in the space (and doing a great job at it). they are o.k. with you having to take off last-minute for emergencies or for some errands. not amazing base pay, but not awful (with a good bonus, usually) and you get very cool perks.

        Advice to Management

split up the "easy" projects to make it more fair for everyone.

        Positive Outlook

I have been working at AlphaSights full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

-Exposure to all aspects of the business from a very early stage -CEOs/management have a vested interest in teaching and driving individual growth, beyond the firm -Lots of exposure to clients, hiring, operations and team management -Extremely positive culture built by ambitious, driven people. -Ideas and input welcomed no matter what level

        Cons

So much to do, so little time: like any growing firm there are a million-and-10 things we have to do, and prioritizing can be difficult.
