    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Alzheimer's Society part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Lots of decent, hard working employees.

    Cons

Management culture too often authoritarian and bullying. Pay levels are poor: deliberately set at the exact average for the sector. HR department is under-staffed. Current strategy is to stop providing services and focus more on advice and research -- which means valuable local groups and cafes are closing too often without decent transition to new providers. Morale is very low throughout the organisation, and there is little or no confidence management will listen or act on employee views.

    Pros

Resources for these living with dementia Genuine passion from staff

    Cons

I’ve never been so ashamed to work for a charity, seeing donations go to waste. It felt like the charity lacked any structure and some truly awful people were left running departments with no knowledge or training. Quick to blame people and make assumptions.
