I worked at American Advisors Group (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved my team and my manager. They were like family. Leads are provided, which is great.

    Cons

No opportunity for growth in ATL office. The reverse mortgage industry is volatile and a lot of changes take place without first informing employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great environment and relationships but be candid with employees and provide more emotional support.

I worked at American Advisors Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The salaries offered are very competitive

    Cons

Lack of support and consistency from senior management, constant turnover, poor work culture, low morale

    Advice to Management

Many talented people work at AAG - recognize their talents!

The recruitment team is wonderful. Unfortunately the culture introduced during the interview process does not carry over. A lack of morale and cohesiveness was apparent within the first 3 months. Senior management in various divisions are not on the same page, resulting in inefficiencies, lack of moral and disagreement between stakeholders.

During my time at AAG, numerous employees left within 1 or 2 years of employment. The turn over is high at all levels, ultimately continuing the cycle of inefficiency. Additionally, unprofessional behavior is not addressed. Some of the team hired to address negative employee relations (Human Resources) partake in the very behavior they were hired to mitigate. All of the above does not make for a pleasant work environment.

While I feel the CEO’s intentions to help the community are commendable, the skeletal framework holding the company together makes AAG a challenging place to work.

    Pros

The CEO. He does an amazing job setting the vision, articulating the strategy, and empowering the team. Beyond that, the mission and culture. The people here really care about each other and helping seniors. I also feel like my contributions are totally valued and my expertise is respected. I have a lot of freedom and flexibility to execute. As a result, I've done some of my best work and had some of my highest professional accomplishments while at AAG.

    Cons

None really. It's a fast-growing company that's experiencing some growing pains as a result, but nothing like I've experienced at other companies.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Your dedication to making AAG and the lives of our customers better is apparent.

A lot of internal work relationships
They have become a typical mortgage company who has large layoffs.

    Advice to Management

They do a lot of surveys that are anonymous, management should actually listen to it.
