Poor upper management / operations managers

You get to travel great pay meet amazing people Fulfillment
Cons
Poor upper managements /operation managers and above typically people that are not on the ship they decided to stop testing guest prior to boarding the ship and doing so caused a lot of crew members to get COVID unnecessarily and then turned around and fired us because we contracted COVID I was housekeeping manager and of course I'm in every room every day I was exposed to it everyday all day and they fired me because I end up with COVID which could have been avoided if they just continue to test guest upon boarding. Complete sabotage. Bad communication and strategy when it comes to very upper level management that are not on the ship day-to-day basis.

American Cruise Lines actively embodies their mission and values as an organization. They are highly collaborative with inspirational leadership, which provides employees with apex motivation to achieve their professional goals.
Cons
My daily commute is approximately 45 minutes each way, but the work environment far outweighs the commute.

Most rewarding opportunity I’ve ever had!

Training is excellent and there are plenty of opportunities for shipboard training as well. As long as you work hard and show a hunger for success, this company will make sure you do. There are no living expenses onboard and officers work very hard to make sure all crew are safe and confident in their positions. Teamwork is one of the most prominent core values of the shipboard structure so you’ll never feel as though you’re working alone or can’t ask for help. Working for ACL gave me an opportunity to break free of my comfort zone and afford a healthier and more comfortable lifestyle for myself. ACL is a company that will gladly promote from within and encourages crew members that enjoy shipboard life to work towards management within their departments. I’m really excited to go to manager training in February and start my permanent career with ACL.
Cons
The hours are long and standards are very high in the housekeeping department. It’s important to give guests the service they expect as advertised. That’s not really a con but shipboard life as well as meeting or exceeding standards set by ACL can be difficult for some. There’s not much downtime for crew but we’re there to work hard and provide an impeccable guest experience.
