Pros
I found the salary and benefits to be quite generous (except for profit-sharing - see Cons section) - I got a raise and bonus each year without much negotiation. Work hours were not crazy - I was able to arrive and leave at normal times each day. Most requests for special considerations, like working from home or vacation time, were approved.
Cons
The main downsides were expectations that were let down. For example, the official line is that there are no job titles, allowing employees to grow and work based on their own interests and ambitions. Related to that, the company claims a flat hierarchical structure, without the bureaucracy of a large corporation. I found both of those to be untrue. Yes, there are no job titles, but in practice, there is a rigid hierarchy and not much opportunity to work outside your hired role. As an example of the rigidity, when I would suggest an improvement to a process, the usual reply would be "oh, that's just the way we do it" or, slightly better, "ok, we'll think about it" but without much follow-up. Another example of expectations let down is the profit sharing scheme - in theory this sounds great, but when you look at the details, the requirements are so complex that it's very difficult for anyone to take advantage. The turnover in my office was quite high. After 3 years working there, I was the most senior member of staff in my office. Overall I did not find it to be a stimulating, creative place to work. There was nothing terrible about the company or job, and I realize it could be much worse, but nothing stand-out amazing, either.
