"Friendly, but not a place to grow as a professional"

Pros
Great people to work with. Above-average salary. Good opportunity to grow and jump to a better company in the future. Free snacks and coffee. Free lunch every month.
Cons
Company doesn't value people. Even if you are talented, you are just a number for them and, instead of trying to understand what they can do to keep the talented people in the company, they just prefer to recruit a new person. Be ready to exceed expectations with the bare minimum resources. Product owners expect you to achieve unrealistic goals under a short time and not enough infrastructure resources. This leads... to some teams having to work extra 2-3 hours/day before a build/version release. What keeps them going it's the team spirit built by genuinely good people. Some product owners don't really know what they are doing and can't really help the team when facing issues on a technical level. "I leave it to you to decide what's the best approach." No time to think, discuss, test, optimizing, and fix the problems. "If it works, it works. Deploy!" If you questioned about CEO product technical decisions, even to find a better solution, your head may roll sooner or later. "Yes, sir!" is the word.

Begin to value and listen to people. Giving them autonomy and time to do a good job. Didn´t want to launch everything too quickly, full of problems. Because that way they kill things at birth.

Pros
Very good work environment. Flexibility. Talented people working in Aptoide from whom you can learn a lot
Cons
Knowledge management is not great which sometimes leads to frustration. HR department is great but I think is becoming a bottleneck for company's growth, both in terms of recruiting and supporting current employees

Pros
- Working in an international environment and dealing with problems and challenges that only a worldwide product can provide you; - Ambitious Ambitious Ambitious! Competing in a market with big sharks as the mobile area force you to set up a continuous improvement mindset; - Working directly or indirectly with a state of the art technologic stack is very fulfilling and oblige you to be aware of new trends - The... present challenges are to define processes, help define steps to grow sustainably, and create a well-balenced company - The perfect space to assume new responsibilities, management will not look to you as a young or experience professional, if you have the ability and willingness to assume challenges this is the place to grow
Show MoreCons
- There should be a real concern to establish well-balenced teams, sometimes the challenges or the pace are too high for the current structure,

"Good company that struggles hard to grow"

RecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Aptoide full-time for more than a year
Pros
Here you will be working with very smart, talented and ambitious people. Most of them go above and beyond in their work. Also, that is a place where you make friends because most of the people are young and very friendly. The project itself is appealing, it is a niche product that tries to scale and gain traction with masses. Also, you learn a tonn about how the mobile industry works, how apps are distributed... and used. The office is pretty cool, with great "game-zone". They actually had breakfasts served in the morning when I was working there. Salary is competitive and there are some additional perks like they give you stock options, some crypto in APPC. I know they have gym agreements and everything like that....
Show MoreCons
Having those overly-ambitious goals, the company doesn't have resources or the structure to support it. Also some bad personnel decisions. One of the top managers has resulted in 10% people leaving in 6 months. The Founders have really cool ideas and are visionaries, but they need a strong core team to make it happen. Right now teams are struggling to connect very high level vison with daily development. Most... of the attempts to manage it result either in setting 100 priorities at a time or going micromanaging.

Choose your leaders wisely. Have not only product managers, but people managers above all.

Start valuing the people working for Aptoide. Great people on both personal and professional level are leaving and Leadership doesn't even care. It is like a house on fire. "This is fine."

Pros
Very nice talented team working together and always trying to help each other. Chance to work in an exciting product and global market landscape. Very international project and great team culture.
Cons
C-level needs to learn to rely more on their leadership team to be able to move faster and be more agile when it comes to decision making. Lack of transparency when it comes to decision making and setting company's structure. Inefficient structure in place to move towards product and company business goals. Lack of regard for Personal Development as there is no HR plan in place to retain talent or to have an... efficient performance review system.
Show MoreAdvice to Management
The success of the company will rely on your team and retaining company's talent. You need to develop trust and motivation on your team as the success of the company relies on that. If you start sharing more details about company goals and products strategy, taking feedback from managers and from the teams seriously and structuring the company efficiently towards those set goals, you'll manage to keep people... onboard and motivated, what will ensure Aptoide's future success.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Aptoide full-time for less than a year
Pros
The team I worked (non-tech) with was really cool people, open to new ideas and very collaborative. Salaries are above average.
Cons
Too much power to developers, who whenever asked to do something they didn't want to, dropped the 'aks the founder' card. Lack of directions in terms of goals. HR management was a joke. Out of nowhere, they fired like 10% of the company and in a few months were hiring new people to do the same jobs.
Advice to Management
Non-tech teams should get more attention and guidance.
