I worked at Aranca full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are always in business by doing some ad-hoc tasks/projects if they do not manage to get any real projects

    Cons

The managers are very nasty people. Your genuine contributions never get credits. Instead they become afraid of high performers and always try to look for ways to derail their image so that they do not become a direct threat to them in terms of good work performance. Certain nasty factors like boozing with the manager, smoking cigarettes 25 times a day with the manager, saying sweet things to him all the time, etc. will make you the first preference in terms of promotion, etc. I personally have seen people who simply lock their monitors and sleep on their workstation get recognized as employee of the year. People who waste all day and then suddenly create an artificial scene by pretending to work too hardly from 7 PM to 1 AM in the night get recognized as the best performers (because they created a fake picture as though they work very hard !). Some sick employees deliberately come to office on Saturdays and Sundays without any genuine reason (no project, no forcing reasons for them to come to office on a non-working day) and create fake picture in the team that they work very hard and they sacrificed their weekends, etc. If you are a professional waste guy, then this is the go to place for you.

    Advice to Management

Quite being in the company management and hire some outside counsel for creating a proper management culture in the company for at least two years. In those two years learn properly how to manage a company. Stop treating the company as family business.

I worked at Aranca full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Since I worked at Aranca for a long period of time, I have observed the following:
     - Great exposure - especially in the BR team - some great client names, strategy assignments and sector focus
     - Access to Management - All team leaders and higher management were approachable and friendly
     - Employee Engagement - Offsites, annual parties, team dinners were always celebrated in spirit and there was evident camaraderie across team members and managers and seniors
     - Recognition - Highly merit oriented - work hard, perform well and you will be most likely recognised; fast track growth for a lot of employees

    Cons

    - Training: high dependence on self learning; no evolution of research approaches, methodologies as compared to industry practices. Lot of emphasis and dollars spent on unnecessary activities but not on functional experts.
     - Attrition at junior level - It was challenging to make the junior level stay considering the salaries offered

    Advice to Management

    - Invest in training; increase exposure of teams to clients and client management; increase base pay of well performing teams, rather than classifying entire department under similar salary brackets
