I worked at Australia Post full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Career development opportunities. Like minded coworkers. Supportive immediate managers. Great pay.

    Cons

Senior management only see numbers. Very stats driven work environment - customers do not come first. Punished for going above and beyond. Overworked. Unclear job roles.

I worked at Australia Post full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Strong culture of camaraderie, Get it done attitude to business problems, foundations of a successful business (despite high revenue and low profit margin due to USOs).... Reasonable middle of the road remuneration in Sales environment.

    Cons

Disconnect between Senior Exec and middle management. Putting the wrong type of leaders in critical sales leadership roles disenfranchising the Sales workforce. Recently have heard the word "toxic" used by those in the environment (obviously an opinion). Like all Sales environments, the sales incentive scheme could be improved. At EFOY Senior Management decided to cap an uncapped scheme that cost high performers dearly.......

I have been working at Australia Post full-time

    Pros

Great company to work for, future career progression is possible

    Cons

Senior management needs to have flatter organisation to remove duplication of roles

I worked at Australia Post for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great work life balance. You are solely responsible for your facilities which can be very rewarding and provides unlimited improvement project opportunities to keep you stimulated. Australia Post values safety at its core and forms an intrinsic part of their Code of Ethics.

    Cons

There has been a raft of VRP's over the last decade which has seen some real talent be lost from the business to the point that there is little understanding of the roles and responsibilities of many positions. Senior Management have not been chosen well in some states.

I worked at Australia Post full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Diverse range of opportunities from coal-face roles through to strategic planning and project management roles.

    Cons

Current trend of continuous restructuring and downsizing leads to fewer opportunities in administrative and middle to senior management roles.

I worked at Australia Post full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Don't have to work hard, no targets to meet, start late & leave early, management does not know what it wants so you can do what you like, get promoted quickly if female

    Cons

Get bored, work with low energy people, a retirement village culture, stay too long and become unemployable, have to listen to mindless promises from senior management, no pay increases (for last 5 years), no bonus

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Australia Post part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The DC that I work at is great. It's become like a big family with a lot of the staff. We all take an interest and care for each other. I also have the advantage of being offered extended training and quite a few opportunities to develop my skills.

    Cons

I don't like the uncertainty of not know if I'll have a job in the future. Moral is also at an all time low with staff. Senior management need to look at this as we are the back bone of the company and would like it to be a job for life.

I worked at Australia Post full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The pay is pretty good for what you do. There are some great people around. Like any public service role you will not have to work too many hours unless you want to climb the ladder.

    Cons

Ongoing training and mentoring is virtually non-existant. The ability to progress in your career is largely political. Senior management offers no real leadership and has no communication skills. The business will likely continue to downsize as mail volumes decrease.
