Don’t believe the hype
23 Nov 2021 - Customer Support SpecialistRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It was great at first when we were in office but it was as though all the fun events and lunches were blinding us of what was really going on
Cons
They try to push free “swag” (clothes, cups, fun stuff) but in reality as customer support you are taking back to back calls for a broken system that they seem to ALWAYS have problems with. Every release there is something broken because development doesn’t seem to know what they are doing and they slap bandaids on it and give their customers work arounds. Very under staffed and micro managing. Benefits keep getting changed and cut back. Holidays you are supposed to get off end up needing to be worked a week before and they expect you to figures it out with your teammates as to who has to work what. Do not believe the recent good reviews because they seem to be from upper management adding them in. Also they are losing employees right now at an exponential rate (in all departments)

Should you be interested in having a conversation we would love to hear your feedback, please give us a call. We know we can get better, we believe we are everyday, hand in hand with our people. - Culture is friendly and welcoming - Team atmosphere - everyone seems engaged - Good benefits, especially for a smaller company - Solid financial status - feels like a startup, but we are not held to investors or outside forces - Solid work/life balance - Easy to get face time with company leadership
Cons
- Dynamics between teams can be strained - Upper management can sometimes intervene too frequently - Turnover has been high as of late

This is an amazing company to work for!
23 Mar 2015 - in West Middlesex, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great co-workers, good benefits package including time off, compensation is comparable to big city companies offering the same service. Good work/life balance. With kids in school, it's important for me to be able to attend their events. There are many company-wide activities that help create a team spirit among employees and families as well. This is a growing company that moves at a very fast pace. Our CEO has a great vision for the future of the company.
Cons
I am part of a newly created department so there are many challenges from cleaning up past issues to putting new processes in place to see that the future of the department exceeds our expectations and provides upper management with the tools and resources we are working hard to implement.

A sad tale
27 Aug 2019 - Software Engineer in West Middlesex, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's astonishing to me that Glassdoor allows themselves to be gamed by this company's transparent attempts to gloss over and dismiss the brutal (though true) accounts of its disastrous management since the arrival of new product management. Autosoft had an incredible team in place, both from a product management and software development aspect. For the nearly 3 years I worked there, it was the best job I had ever had (and my career was nearing 20 years). Brilliant, generous colleagues and supportive management; I was happy to come to work every day.
Cons
Then the President/Owner decided to bring in new product management, and he had the remarkable ability to come in at the end of an amped-up staff meeting and gradually purge it of any remaining energy. The boss had his yes-man, and anyone who disagreed knew where the door was. As a result, most of middle management, many in upper management and nearly the entire product development team opted to exit through that door. No accounting of this brain drain can perhaps adequately convey the value of the lost knowledge—simply devastating.

President & CEO
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that we have incredible, brilliant people working here at Autosoft, with very supportive management. I'm glad to hear that working at Autosoft was the best job you ever had over your 20 year career as a software engineer. Autosoft is continuously recognized as an outstanding employer, through award programs that are driven by feedback from our employees. We definitely can't "gloss over and dismiss" the fact that it's very challenging and rewarding to work at Autosoft. It's challenging work and we continue to attract and develop the right individuals who are excited about the opportunities ahead, have the right experience and skills, understand the vision and path, and have the right attitude. Like any company with big vision and goals, we have successes and failures along the way. I'm proud to be part of a company that gives employees the transparency, autonomy and ability to make decisions and fail forward, learn from mistakes and make corrections along the way. Unfortunately, change isn't for everyone, and not everyone can thrive in an environment that pushes people to grow and challenges people to improve every day. I am sorry you didn't get a chance to grow your career at Autosoft.

A mixed bag but inconsistent and untrustworthy
25 Mar 2019 - Software Engineer in West Middlesex, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good People in the trenches; Product tells a good/promising story for the market; Embraced remote work; very active activities and health commitees
Cons
Chaotic management - (technical) middle management musical chairs; lack of trust - confidential training surveys used as basis for salary increase denial; many promises not delivered; upper management surrounded by yes-men - culture of YES or punishment; technical architecture mired and murky - massive technical brain-drain in 2018; bread and circuses - good if you like free beer on the last Friday every month, bad if you think its a deliberate distraction from bad management practices.

A SENSeless Clown Show

Free Food Free Tshirts Cool Co-Workers that Share Your Same Issues They pay me every 2 weeks and with COVID I cannot leave yet
Cons
"We have never had to do this before" The words of a CEO and HR team that was very ill prepared and literally flying by the seat of their torn pants. Employees had their positions eliminated (it happens right?) due to "company restructuring. They decided to move $$$ to development type areas (so if you are reading this and thinking about joining the techie side BEWARE MY FRIENDS!!!) and wanted to let everyone know they were gone in a Zoom meeting. Problem is not everyone was in the meeting. Some found out when their access was unceremoniously cut off. "Oh your manager didnt call you?" NOPE he was a coward and did not do that! Promotions are based on something crazy because there are people on this proverbial bus that ARE NOT in the right seat at all. It is comical how some people are laughed at and ridiculed DAILY and they have no idea how bad they are at their job and hated. CEO micromanages because he is bored. Every Salesforce entry is looked at and the CEO takes hours going back and forth. If you lose an sales opportunity be prepared for 75 minutes of emails! Wonder if he knows sales team members don't close opportunities because of that and just lie to their managers as avoid the emails of shame? Look at the other reviews here. The CEO writes paragraphs in response to reviews? REALLY? Who does that man? Middle and upper management is decent is some places. Tragically horrible in some. No one really knows who in charge. Finance? They think so. Sales? They wish! Implementation? Maybe should be but not strong enough right now. Trying to bring a new product to market. 5 years and counting and NOTHING! 2022 is now a real date. Competitors laugh and point at them.

Chuck-a-luck wheel of of broken promises to employees, customers current and "propspects"
31 Mar 2020 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you enjoy free shirts and misc other trinkets (junk) to fill a desk with then this is the place for you.
Cons
Upper management is clueless on what is important to the end consumer, only worried about creating fluff rather than developing a core DMS program and getting it to market. They've been telling everyone that will listen 2 mores years until they disrupt the marketplace for the last 6 maybe even 10 years. They've made promises to customers that the new DMS would be released February 2020 in hopes of keeping them as a customer or gaining a new customer that would only have to be on the antiquated software temporarily. Well Feb 2020 has come and gone and there is NO new DMS to "disrupt" the market. They will tell you that's not true and that thay have released software but it's front end related. They do not have a complete DMS. When the company has experienced roughly a 70-80% turnover of some really awesome developers and are nowhere near the capacity needed to complete the project in time. Upper management is more concerned with finding the Golden Unicorn that will make unattainable promises and deadlines rather than concentrate on building something that could've been great. There has been a revolving door of those Golden Unicorns each with there own Chuck-a-luck wheel of lies. There are so many layers of micro-management and each layer is working against the other that people just end up frustrated and stop caring. The ux/ui team seems to have more say in what and how the software is developed when they 1. don't have a clue what the end consumers needs are 2. have not performed and market research 3. when SME's explain the how's what's and why's to them ux/ui tells them they are wrong. I could go on and on. If you are a rookie developer looking to start somewhere this may work for you otherwise steer clear. Oh I forgot to mention their "great culture" that they brag about. They have cut almost everything that was once a great perk such as Bonusly etc. Plus they restructured the PTO last year to benefit them only. They literally to 64 hours AWAY from long term LOYAL employees. Basically said thank you so much for your 15+ years of service no give me back those 64 hours. Employees also used to be able to roll over hours from one year to the next but they took that away also. It's now a use it or lose it. And one more biggie if your are fired or quit you NO longer get the PTO that you EARNED paid out. They had to pay out so much in PTO time over the last 2 years due to a mass exodus that they decided to stick to everyone else rather than digging into the reasons that they lost SO SO many great employees (mostly devs). Although they know the reasons they just refuse to acknowledge it until it TOO late. We'll just look for the next golden unicorn and his chuck-a-wheel of lies.
