One of the best and progressive workplaces

9 May 2023 - Software Engineer in Calcutta

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      1. Absolutely superb culture (Great Place To Work-certified) 2. Invests in their team members' health and wellbeing through so many benefits. 3. Plenty of leave. There's something called a Kindness Leave where the company and people voluntarily donate their leaves so that others might take time off in their emergencies. What does that tell you about the culture? 4. The people! People here genuinely care about your wellbeing and work-life balance. 5. Fixed work hours. 6. Home office set-up allowance. If you're not comfortable working from home, you can even use the monthly co-working space allowance and work from an office space of your choice. 7. International event and session sponsorships. 8. Excellent work exposure with clients and partnerships like Stanford, Doctors Without Borders, Acquia, the UN, etc. But I would say mostly it's the people-centric culture that makes all of the above possible.

      Cons

You would need a certain degree of self-management to thrive in this culture, because there's no micromanagement. But the good news is that every team member has a professional Performance Coach assigned to them. So, if you're struggling, help is just a message away.

      Pros

The company has flexible working hours.

      Cons

      - Engineering teams are led by incompetent managers with poor management and technical skills. - No proper process to follow when they are on the bench. - The managers are assigning stupid unwanted tasks and points out small mistakes and eventually negative feedbacks which leads to justified terminations or forced resignations. - Engineers are getting low salaries as compared to Non-Engineering roles. - Company is trying to change policies which are not favourable for engineers. - No action has been taken against the Career Managers despite many escalations/issues reported by the engineers. - The company is spending time and money on unwanted Off-sites rather trying to acquire Projects which impacts on the performance of their employees.

I am extremely happy I chose Axelerant

5 May 2023 - Senior Program Manager in Pune

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Understanding Leadership: I have grown exponentially and holistically as a person because I found the right mentors in my managers and coaches. Career Growth: I joined at an associate level and have grown to be a senior manager in just 3.5 years. The credit again goes to my manager as they guided me to follow the right track and find a career path that used my strengths and was at the same time was a requirement for Axelerant. The financial growth I have been experiencing is also beyond my expectations. Benefits: I absolutely love the education allowance as it lets me buy self-help books and certification courses. My second favorite benefit would be flexible working hours and leaves policy. It let's me plan my day as my convenience and not revolve my life around work. Remote work: I know this is a new normal for everyone and not a unique benefit at Axelerant but working from home with Axelerant is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I, like many, have gone through the loss of loved ones during the pandemic and if it wasn't for Axelerant and the support of people at Axelerant, I would've been a complete emotional wreck after losing not one but three loved ones during this period. The remote work structure let's me be close with my family, and even spend quality, meaningful time with them.

      Cons

Axelerant is never short of great ideas that are ahead of its time. Introducing WFH in 2012 being a big proof of how people-centric the organization really is. But there can be delays in execution of these many ideas.

      Pros

      - Fully Remote workplace. - Good place to work for non-technical positions or Managers. They will have the opportunities to travel different locations in the name of offsites.

      Cons

      - Culture has taken a big hit since new so called career-managers are put into action to micro-manage things. - The Engineers on the bench are asked to spent time on stupid things like obsolete technologies or technologies that are less used. - The employee who didn't even completed a year in the company's culture was given the role of career manager even there were senior employees who can handle the role much better.

      Pros

Best for sales, accounts, marketing team they can travel abroads and differents offsites for fun nothing related to work

      Cons

Company started to change its culture as it was earlier Culture has drastically changed from nice to worst Giving higher salaries to the employees who dont even deserve Sales and account team are unable to get new projects only enjoying best salaries in the company and different trip la to abroads for enjoyments. There are various distractions in slack, channels which are not even related are getting more attention rather then technologies related channels. Developers are getting micromanaged and asked to do stupid things which are not even related Developers are asked to learn the same technology again again which they already experienced 5 years ago Developers are not entertained to learn new technologies rather carreer manager is stucking them to the older technology and harrasingg them like hell. Career Manager dont have any experience of career and yet siting in the role of career manager Career managers are not encouraging developers for growth rather then asking do some stupid things Company fails to raise the salaries or promoting employees but spending more and more money on travels and enjoyments Career manager is not well experienced to be a manager, there are lots of senior persons in the company who are more experienced than the carreer manager Company culture is just a myth there is by nothing like in the company Great place to work certification is just a myth I will never suggest anyone to work in this company because this company is more for marketers and Managers and directors only Career Manager doesn’t care if employee leaves due to micromanagement instead he dont care to leave. Actually carrer managers are the persons who force employees to leave due to their stupid needs and micro management and harassments
