Pros
In a career spanning more than a decade, Axiall is the place where I've been happiest. Yes, it's a newer company, so of course the culture is still a work in progress -- but executive leadership is really wonderful and the company is on the right track. I've worked at the Atlanta corporate headquarters for more than three years, and each year has only gotten better. There are so many opportunities for high performers to grow here (the key is, you must be a high performer.) Management is incredibly supportive of work/life balance, and salaries are good. Do people complain, as another reviewer noted? Of course they do! There are complainers in any company, and many people naturally wish they didn't have to work at all. That doesn't mean the company is a bad place to work. Also, 'bonuses' are just that -- a bonus given when the company, business unit and individual perform above expectations. Bonuses are not something any of us are entitled to. The new (mid-year 2015) CEO is someone I have the utmost respect for and confidence in as a leader. I really can't say enough about how happy I am at Axiall, and I believe the future of the company and its dedicated, high-performing employees is bright.
Cons
IT/IS support and structure needs some work. Wish there was an HRA option in the benefits package for corporate employees.

Pros
I worked at Royal Building Products full-time (More than a year) Doesn't Recommend Negative Outlook I don't recommend anyone work at Royal Building Products in Bristol, TN. The pay is only good for management, quality control, and paint room areas. They do not appreciate their employees and treat them unfairly.
Cons
Management and supervisors are very unethical, close-minded, and they have no common sense or manners. Management does not communicate with their employees as they regard them as insignificant lower life forms. The Bristol, TN facility also endangers their employees with numerous health and safety hazards in which they make no attempt to rectify. They have no concept of quality or business management. I believe Axiall Corporation should restructure that facility and fire several managers, especially the plant manager, before they are allowed to continue to run the company into the ground and eventually out of business.

Pros
Axiall has a great internship program that provides many opportunities for technical and professional growth. Interns are given plant, unit and shop tours to fully understand the companies production process. They also have access to almost all employee training. The company definitely values safety and the employees/upper management really cares about your opportunity to learn. Lastly, interns are given important projects that truly impacts the production, efficiency, safety, and transportation of their products.
Cons
Axiall Corporation does a great job making future interns aware of work requirements to be completed by the start date. However, depending on the time, you may have to wait a couple of months before your TWIC card is available. Without your TWIC card your plant access is limited.

Pros
Love the people and culture. Great place to work and achieve your professional goals that you set. Management team is very approachable and hands on.
Cons
After the merger of Georgia Gulf and PPG, Axiall is in the process of developing it's own culture and processes, so there are a lot of new initiatives being rolled out all at once. It's good growth, but it's a lot of change all at once.

Pros
Axiall has a great work environment with very self motivated people. There is lots of room for growth and they take care of you in terms of pay and benefits.
Cons
There was no formal training, but managers and their teams did a good job answering questions.

At Axiall we realize the value of a solid internship program. The interns of today are the future leaders of the organization. Thank you for your feedback, and we are very glad your experience with Axiall was rewarding. This is the second year of our college internship program, and we will continue to develop and improve the program.

Pros
They are trying! There are noticeable changes taking place. Although there is much further to go, I feel like Axiall upper management is doing some good creating a culture that is more respectful of hourly employees. The work pace is good. The front line supervisors are friendly. The union, although pretty much useless by most standards, keeps the company in check and structured. I feel protected against supervisors who would fire someone over personal feelings. The pay is improving and that is a big factor in deciding the future of my career there since employers have opted out of traditional pensions... The DOLLAR PER HOUR AMOUNT IS KEY.
Cons
Axiall seriously needs to shed the old PPG guard in middle and upper managementPG guard in middle and upper managementPG guard in middle and upper management. There are still many of these managers who resent hourly workers for something that happened ten years ago... The ppg strike of 06. There are some radical, extreme safety protocols coming that will make no amount of money worth it. I am really concerned about retention if they pursue these policies in the way we are told they will.
