Pros

There is literally nothing redeeming about this place. The only pro I can think of was being able to quit this job.

Cons

Terrible management. Disorganization. Poor compensation. Few to no opportunities to advance. Even if you did advance you would be working with insufferable people doing sad work that will make you question why you ever went to law school. Management does not value lower level employees. No value is put into developing a quality product. Driving sales is the number one priority and other functions are not valued. On top of BarBri itself being a truly awful company, the work is mostly bad. Getting berated by entitled, stressed law students is exhausting. Student complaints are only exacerbated due to Barbri's systematic disorganization and failure to adequately prepare for each bar season. Incompetence and failure to retain quality staff result in repeated mistakes in both course materials and putting on the course itself. As awful as the students can be, their complaints about the course are generally valid and well deserved, especially in light of the cost of the course. Worst of all, this place will do nothing for your resume. You don't gain any transferable skills and you'll basically blacklist yourself from ever practicing law. Salespeople here are the slimiest of the slimy, selling an overvalued product to a captive, vulnerable audience. This is where you come to work when no one else will hire you but you are drowning in student loan debt and have no other choice. Oh, and hours are only flexible if you're working as a grader. Otherwise you will work long hours and consistently work weekends during bar review. Depending on your position, a lot of travel may be involved.

Pros

There arent any pros... not one.

Cons

First of all, 98% of the reviews are FAKE. This company does NOT pay well, the turnover rate is HIGH. Managers and directors are incompetent and bullies. Diversity and inclusion is none existent. No room to grow. Performance reviews SHOULD be at the beginning of the year, but they'll have it in like AUGUST and NOT offer retroactive pay AND the increase max is 2% (meanwhile inflation is 7.7%+ and they're paying people in high COL areas the same as low-cost states) Don't apply here. You can't go on leave if someone else is out. There aren't any great benefits.

Pros

There are some truly special people that work here. Most are not in leadership roles or given the credit they deserve.

Cons

BARBRI's priority is making as much money as possible. This is not done by improving their core products, but by acquiring as many companies as possible with little regard to the people affected. As the company scales, they can't or won't hire the appropriate amount of people to support the products. This causes teams to be overworked, under-appreciated, and underpaid. What makes me the saddest is that the students who are completely relying on their programs to pass the bar exam, LSAT, etc are being let down by the business's rapidly deteriorating products and system reliability (look at their Twitter comments. The site is down too often).
