I have been working at BSI Group for more than 3 years

    Pros

The business cares about personal development, well-being, growth and innovation. There's an open and collaborative team culture with passionate people whose work feels valued.

    Cons

Not all teams in the company feel as valued. On-going change in priorities creates difficult and unreasonable expectations from some of senior management.

I worked at BSI Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Reasonable choice of benefits, good on site café/restaurant facilities.

    Cons

It is sad that in recent years, the toxic management techniques employed by middle management have created a stressful work environment to the point where a significant number of staff have been forced to either step down, or leave the company. Senior management appear to take little or no interest in the well being of staff.

    Advice to Management

Please take more interest in your staff. Have a close look at those departments where long established and talented people have left the business over the past couple of years, understand why this has happened and take some action.

I worked at BSI Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Some great people and a business that still succeeds even whilst being broken

    Cons

Blame culture, cover your back ALL the time. Senior Leadership don’t know what’s going on, don’t agree on anything and make it impossible for decisions to be made and for change to succeed. Old school and risk averse, they want to become innovative but this is cut off at the knees with the politics and culture. Extremely political.......favouritism is rife. Some people in leadership roles really shouldn’t be. One...

    Advice to Management

Listen and be prepared to hear that you need to change. Employee engagement surveys are a waste of time because management does not take on board and act on the feedback. Change your leadership, this company can be great again. Be stronger in dealing with toxic and incompetent people, get them out. Learn how to implement and embed change.

    Pros

Great Co-workers and friendships that came out of that crappy place.

    Cons

POOR MANAGEMENT! there is no logic to half of the things they implement, no training, FAVORITISM runs high there, completely overworked- they are always increasing your sales goals to unattainable measures. You will commute all over far, Have to work long hours after you get home.. its never ending. ungrateful company, CANNOT keep employees- revolving door, no transparency, Shady HR, ABSOLUTELY ZERO CARE FOR FAMILY...

    Advice to Management

GET NEW MANAGEMENT! Find Managers that are not billable so they are more accessible to their consultants and maybe you can keep a few. Stop LYING to new hires, making it seem like BSI is this happy, great place with lots of opportunity.. LIES! It is so political is a joke! Mostly, stop with the nonsense "cultural fit" that BSI "strives for".. its BS to the max! there is zero cultural fit, zero support and zero ethics...

    Pros

Nice building Decent cafeteria but with very slow service Great, friendly people (excluding senior management)

    Cons

Sales: Do you enjoy working with narcissistic sycophants? Do you like having no say AT ALL in how you work? Do you like being micromanaged? Do you enjoy having to tell your boss EVERY. SINGLE. THING, ALL. THE. TIME? Do you enjoy having no autonomy in your role? Do you think that senior management should call members of your team liars, causing them to be so demotivated/anxious that they leave? Do you enjoy working...

    Advice to Management

You laughably claim to be a great employer but don’t seem to care or be aware how much damage your senior managers (using the term loosely) are doing? Micromanaging is NOT big or clever. Threatening employees is disgusting. Calling employees liars is disgraceful. Maybe check your staff retention figures once in a while, that might reveal something important...

I have been working at BSI Group full-time

      Pros

Honestly the best place I have worked and a nice environment in Loughborough. Great flexibility, benefits, pension, holiday allowance and variety. Good opportunities available for those willing to work for them which to be honest I think is fair. There have been a number of reviews on here and I really don’t recognise the place that they describe as it’s not what I have experienced. There is a good team ethic and people...

      Cons

There really aren’t many bad things. Yes there are bits that need sorting and improvement (where isn’t there?) but there seems a desire for this to happen from everyone.

      Advice to Management

      Tackle things quicker.
