I have been working at BSI Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Job Training to industry knowledge

    Cons

Toxic Leadership with a culture of bullying. Too much administrative work for sales people. Up to 5 hours weekly in internal meetings and countless hours of micromanaging reports that do not lead to sales. Human Resources shares private information with management. The internal teams do not respect each other so there is very little cross department teamwork. Sales employees tenure is less than 1 year.

    Advice to Management

Burn it down and start over. The COO has given senior sales leaders too much slack. There is a terrible lack of communication and that starts at the top.

I have been working at BSI Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I joined BSI nearly 5 years ago as part of the first Sales Graduate Programme and have never looked back! The business doesn't hold back in rewarding and recognising good / hard work and if you put the work in, its well worth it. The training I was provided with when joining was very good and provided me with a good platform to build on, both in terms of the products / services I was selling and in terms of sales skills...

We should use the phone more often - it is too easy to get caught up sending emails.

I worked at BSI Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They have a Good Business / Brand

    Cons

Poor management culture, big promises of training, support etc, delivered much less. Very poor communication , very critical of individuals. the reality is it starts with the senior management.

    Advice to Management

Lighten up, and stop hiding behind the name.

I have been working at BSI Group

    Pros

Nice office with friendly atmosphere and subsidised cantine which has been recently refurbished. Some great people, good benefits and even better annual kick off event. Moving in the right direction with a new focus on the employee satisfaction and career development. Brand carries weight in the industry and if you are passionate about BSI's product offering it would be a good company for you.

    Cons

Too many sales managers who are over-paid and ineffective. Promotions rarely come down to merit. Company initiatives don't seem to filter down and get realised by managers; they are too worried about hitting their own figures/ goals to care about the welfare of their teams and do not listen despite an open culture being encouraged. Lots of back stabbing and 'carrot dangling'; managers don't keep promises which is ironic...

    Advice to Management

People work for people. In theory BSI has some great values and initiatives which should make it a great place to work but this is not filtered down. The Executive team need to look closely at senior management and management as the main reason for unengaged, frustrated employees.

    Pros

    Cons

No Northern based office - Selfishly I would have loved to have stayed but travel to HQ made it impossible Not all departments are linked to delivering "Excellence" Testing / Product Certification still seen as the "little brother"

    Advice to Management

Consider greater use of digital platforms Carry on with the progression made over the last 3 years - Mark Basham (EMEA MD) & Maureen SumnerSmith (UK MD) have really focused on their people and their clients

I have been working at BSI Group

    Pros

    - It has been a great experience working with the testing engineers at the Laboratories which has not only increased my knowledge of the services we are able to offer and how the testing is conducted, but has also improved the working relationship between Kitemark court, Loughborough and Hemel Hempstead. - Fast-paced and competitive environment and working with a team that are hungry for success - Being given the opportunity...

    Cons

    - Communication is not always as strong as it should be between functions and within department. Need to ensure that everyone is signing off the same hymn sheet. - Forward thinking and planning is sometimes not at its best - need to think ahead of the game and be proactive rather than reactive
