    Pros

Good benefits package Lovely dining area Made friends Great pay

    Cons

For the great pay be prepared to sacrifice your overall well-being. An insane culture of bullying runs rampant, especially within the group marketing department. A great deal of "old heads" are at the helm and have no clue how things work or how they actually get done. Pathetic mean girls, sociopaths and narcissists run these halls! If you don't enjoy gossiping, backbiting or other bullying tactics, you can't...

    Advice to Management

Recognise patterns: if the turnover of certain teams is quite high, the problem (usually one or two people) is still there. Need passionate people with creative minds. Need less 'jobbers' and 'lifers'. Stop hiring sociopaths and narcissists!

    Pros

    - Good Benefits - Excellent and fun introductory day - Progression opportunities - Dress down Fridays

Took a very long time to get personal Laptop and accounts to access company software required for job role, slowing down initial first few weeks in terms of being able to get the work necessary done.

I worked at BSI Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Excellent CEO - Stable company (over 100 years in business) - Pension plan - Good benefits & RSP matching - Excellent Training program/Continuous learning opportunities

    Cons

    - Recent change to management; now more micro/controlling - Not much guidance or direction from management - More emphasis and discussion on performance reviews is needed - Lack of creativity - Slow moving organization - Politics - Slow moving processes

    Advice to Management

You have some really talented people working for you! Make sure to show trust and respect vs micromanaging these professionals.

    Cons

Little support if any when needed

    Advice to Management

I worked at BSI Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, that's about it! Worked at MK facilities quite good. Car parking on site but need to be there early to get a space!

    Cons

They welcome you with open arms staying they are flexible and say they encourage staff to suggest and implement new procedures but they aren't interested and the training is awful! Too many people have been there since the day dot and don't actually like change when it comes to it! Very spiteful atmosphere too which suggests staff are unhappy! I

    Advice to Management

Take the time to actually get to know your staff and use their best skills to benefit them and the company. Too much emphasis is ensuring the job is done a certain way rather than opening your mind up the job could be done better a different way. Totally disorganised considering it's a paperless system and is frustrating for staff and customers!

I have been working at BSI Group

    Pros

Nice office with friendly atmosphere and subsidised cantine which has been recently refurbished. Some great people, good benefits and even better annual kick off event. Moving in the right direction with a new focus on the employee satisfaction and career development. Brand carries weight in the industry and if you are passionate about BSI's product offering it would be a good company for you.

    Cons

Too many sales managers who are over-paid and ineffective. Promotions rarely come down to merit. Company initiatives don't seem to filter down and get realised by managers; they are too worried about hitting their own figures/ goals to care about the welfare of their teams and do not listen despite an open culture being encouraged. Lots of back stabbing and 'carrot dangling'; managers don't keep promises which is ironic...

    Advice to Management

People work for people. In theory BSI has some great values and initiatives which should make it a great place to work but this is not filtered down. The Executive team need to look closely at senior management and management as the main reason for unengaged, frustrated employees.

I have been working at BSI Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits. Relaxed atmosphere. It could easily be outstanding.

    Cons

Promise the earth, but ultimately fail to deliver. Very unfair treatment, some employees work from home 95% of the time, but most, even doing the same role, are refused the opportunity. Promises of flexi hours and home working are simply not kept, even if they benefit both the company AND the employee.

    Advice to Management

Try keeping the promises. Working from home not only makes happier employees, but saves the company a small fortune (heating, lighting, cooling, water, screens etc all are dramatically reduced). Picking a start time of 08:00 or 09:00 then being stuck with it, is NOT flexi time . .

    Pros

Solid company, lots of training opportunities, good benefits, good amount of holidays

    Cons

it's hard to progress although the company always has several opportunities, but it prefers to go outside than develop current employees

    Advice to Management

I have been working at BSI Group

    Pros

Good benefits, good working conditions in a modern office. The company is changing for the better with clear direction from the CEO.

    Cons

Some problems with old, has been, top management selecting their equally old favourites on the basis of a sob story, these employees are often incompetent and/or lazy but get rewarded with high salaries whilst the rest of the team pick up the work. ('old boy network' springs to mind, they look after each other whilst missing competent highly motivated employees) Huge salary discrepancies for the same role.

    Advice to Management

Put a halt to the favouritism, look at the quality of everyone's work and reward on that basis not a sob story. Some departments need a top management shake up, get with the times if you want BSI to be a great place to work.
