    A good introduction to low level IT services, lots of face time with clients Loved the team I worked with

    I worked at Best Buy part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    They offered a generous financial assistance packaged when the COVID-19 pandemic began and continued to offer health insurance. This was a great example of the care that this company has for its employees. Managers were knowledgeable of their roles, or at least able to inspire great workers. I was able to balance full-time school and part-time work because of their flexible scheduling.

    Cons

    All hands are on deck for Black Friday, and the following Saturday for 8-9 hour shifts that could either be overnight shifts or long day shifts. E-Learnings (digital trainings) were good at giving you surface level information to convey to your customers but to effectively sell in my experience you needed a lot of your own research to show true expertise in your department.

    Pros

    management at my location was nice/understanding, gave me time off when I required, weren't too strict, nice store, relaxing to work at

    Cons

    hourly wage wasn't great, it was my first job so I accepted the near minimum hourly salary but didn't get a raise after almost 2 years working there, for 2020 standards it would be especially bad

    (depends on location I can assume) Great atmosphere and coworkers, pretty good incentives. Always was fun and memorable working the holidays and black friday.
