      Pros

If you really, and I mean really, like horse racing then there isn't anywhere else you'd rather be.

      Cons

I would say irregular hours and minimum wage are the mains cons.

      Poor place to work

      Pros

The only Pros to Betfred are the staff that you work with in your shop. You very quickly start to feel like a family and you make friends for life.

      Cons

Where to start? The wages are pitiful and the hours are even worse. If you have a family that you need to look after, kiss goodbye to them. To earn a decent liveable wage, you have to work 50+ hours a week and no one bats an eye - the working time directive doesn’t exist at this place. Employee engagement and job satisfaction is none existent too. Management don’t care for your views, they only care that you open the shop up on time and keep it running until the end of the day. You raise an issue with your Area Team and they fill you with false promises and brush it under the rug hoping you will forget about it. It’s a battle to get holidays booked, god forbid you want the same week off as someone in the shop down the road because they’ll never pass it. Due to short staffing issues and Betfred not paying the correct holiday pay, I went 2 years without using a holiday day as 1. You couldn’t get cover for your holidays and 2. We weren’t paid our average overtime while on leave which left us out of pocket for taking time off. I could go on and on about Betfred, I could even write a book, but someone already did that, and got sacked for it may I add.
