Freshers get opportunity, package is not as per the standard, good exposures to learn
25 Oct 2021 - Senior Executive in BangaloreRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. They will give an opportunity for fresher as an internship. Fresher can enter into the corporate sector when other companies demanding minimum 2-3 years of experience without giving an opportunity. 2. Learning opportunities were quite well. Can get technical exposure instead of boring process oriented stuffs (which sucks the career, if one lacks technical experience)
Cons
1. Lack of healthy working environment. Cross functional team always try to show their superiority over others. Very much politics within the lower management. Always cold war will be there within the managers, managers and HOD. Backstabbing and groupism is the most common thing in clinical development team. 2. My reporting manager was literally aggressive. He gets entertainment by assigning some topics to present by reading books end-to-end. You would be surprised to know, he asks questions based on preface section in the book. He expects from fresher to answer like how 20+ years experienced employee does based on his/her experience. He is very moody and his teammates should be ready to listen his scold and ruin our day. Since female employees have to focus parallelley on kids and family +they can easily gets emotional and starts crying, for all these reasons he won't hire female candidates. 3. There were a couple of instances, my manager bullied at me with louder voice and created a shameful environment purposefully. He dominates very well. This scenario is not restricted to clinical development department. The same situation in multiple departments as well. One of my colleagues was faced a situation where that person had to work in the back-end but their line manager took the credits in front of the upper management and clients. That employee again criticized negatively to feel that employee is not up-to the mark (so that she/he can be in their control; decreasing the confidence level and indirectly let them not to apply for other companies) 3. If you're working in the clinical development team, lot of politics and narrow minded people have to face. In my 3 years of experience at Biocon, many team managers are not having MNC culture so they treat themselves as superior and always try to put other team down. 4. If you want to have technical exposure, then you have to face blame-game, domination, have to work in the back-end and especially one should have high experience on people handling but ultimately it feel exhausted by fighting for the existence in the department. 5. The biggest drawback is that, they offer very less. When I did research about the standard market, I realized that freshers are getting 6-7 LPA in other companies as per the standard market but having 3 years of experience I was getting 3LPA. So, income growth from the career is seriously hampering. 6. They don't give sufficient hike and market correction is highly doubtful. When I put my resignation, they told me to do the market correction but I proceeded with the other company offer. During the exit interview, HR clearly said that only upto 30% hike is possible as per the company norms but that also not so easy. 7. Work flexibility is not there. If one can be able to work in front of laptop (and not in the labs) also not able to work from home permanently or at least 15 days in a month. 8. Notice period is 3 months and only with LOP and with proper justification and evidence, you get leave during the notice period. They never agree for buyout option too. 9. They hire freshers as an intern and get the maximum benefit from them and then they will throw away. Female candidates will get a better chance to become permanent employee. Beautiful female candidate will have double benefits to become permanent staff.
