    Pros

Benefits are hands down, top notch in the state of Idaho Discount is bomb, if you buy supplements. "Flex time off" is bomb, if you know how to use it. Company culture is fun/modern, its a very millennial place to be. HR is always trying to get us involved with company events or activities.

    Cons

Biggest con is I don't think company will be around for much longer. Anybody who is thinking about working here should know that as a possibility. People have been slowly leaving the company for the past couple e of years about 2-3 people per week almost with none of them being replaced. We just laid off probably about 30 people a few weeks ago on top of that. Now it seems people are leaving or are going to leave even fasternow that they did that. I was lucky enough to not be one of them and I was already interviewing at other places to see if I had other options here in the valley. I just accepted one a few days ago and gave my manager my two weeks during the past week. Im not about to wait around until they lay off more people out of the blue. Other cons: Discount is bomb, if you buy a lot of supplements. (I never buy supplements) "Flex time off" is bomb, if you know how to use it. (I never understood how to use it) Company culture could be considered fun or modern, its a very millennial place to be. (I'm not a millennial. I don't like millennials) HR is always trying to get us involved with company events or activities. (I hate all the events they try to make us do)

I worked at Bodybuilding.com full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Excellent 401k match, wfh flexibility, unlimited PTO, great free gym.

    Cons

Extremely low pay, even for Idaho. No job security. There is no leadership at this company, only titles. The direction to take the company changes on a dime because the c suite does not know how to save this failing company; they will say it is because they are in a transformation state, but that is because they are unwilling to accept when they have made mistakes. After the recent layoffs and the massive amount of attrition, the office is a ghost town and there is barely anyway to get anything done. People have been fired for simply being transparent with their managers with constructive criticism. This is a company looking solely for 'Yes' men or women who are willing to do whatever is dictated to them and ask no questions. The CDO of the company seems to be completely clueless about everything and is unwilling to accept any feedback. This is all a shame because the overall mission of the company and the industry itself, are very motivating and fascinating.

    Pros

Need a job for a month or two while you play on your phone and have a easy check come in. Go for it they don't care and they gonna fire you after you're 90 days like they did everyone else.

    Cons

Toxic work environment more drama than there is work being done. Managers are extremely incompetent and have no respect for there employees.

I worked at Bodybuilding.com full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Friends, bonuses, free shelf, insurance, 401k

    Cons

When the company began to grow, so did its problems. The management was/is ultimately its downfall. It began with the FDA raids. Than the Pennsylvania warehouse fraudulently scamming customers. Their employees were scanning the orders and dropping them in the trash. Not to mention that the warehouse was somehow missing a million dollars in inventory. But that mess was swept up under a rug when the other warehouse managers spent a month cleaning up that mess. Than they shut down two warehouses, Boise Idaho days after their huge black friday/cyber monday sale. The Florida warehouse followed the next year. I definitely feel for those people that gave their everything because they were lied to.

I worked at Bodybuilding.com full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Benefits are really good. Employee discount is nice if you order from the website a lot.

    Cons

All the 5 Star reviews are either fake or blowing smoke. The lack of communication in this company is REAL, you learn more from watching youtube people talk about your company than you do from corporate. The company used to be open with communication and celebrate new ideas and products, now unless you are in on the meeting you have no idea what's going on until it happens. The CEO either has no idea what's going on or simply doesn't care. Tons of money is being dumped into automation for the shipping warehouses but no development work to make them work to max efficiency. It's like spending $10,000 on a new tv that only has 1 working channel. The company can't seem to figure out how marketing works and instead of pushing their own product which has the highest profit margins instead pushes competitor products which either makes very small profit or nothing at all. Instead of jumping on the hot trends of what customers want they often wait too long to act and sit on mountains of product that will never sell. All of this equals why the company is consistantly laying off employees and shutting down warehouses every year. They can't sustain orders or customers. Year over year they lose more and more customers and haven't shown growth since 2015. If you are looking for a temporary job then Bodybuilding is the place to be, but if you are looking for a career then make a hard pass as this company will struggle to be around in the next couple of years.

    Pros

Solid benefits with 401(k), insurance, flexible schedules, unlimited PTO. Some truly great coworkers.

    Cons

It's hard to put into words just how dramatically this company has fallen from their greatest highs. Where once there was a great focus on the customer and providing them guidance and value to reach their goals, the new view towards the customer is, and this is a direct quote from the Chief Digital Officer, "Forget about them, if they aren't giving us money I don't care about them." And that really should tell you all you need to know, but it gets so much worse. Executive management disregards any employee that disagrees with them, as the CDO is absolutely certain he's the smartest guy in the room, the levels of micromanagement are through the roof, the lack of respect or collaboration from leaders to their employees can't be explained, you would have to see it to believe it. The employee turnover rate is astronomical, even without the layoffs they just went through. The 5 dysfunctions of a team are in full display here, and no one in leadership seems to be aware or care. They are circling the drain, and it is painful to watch a once great company destroy itself through mismanagement.

Good benefits. Lots of parking spaces.

    Cons

The 1 thing great leaders do....great leaders take responsibility for failures of strategy and failures of execution. But don’t expect this to be the case at Bodybuilding.com. The leadership at Bodybuilding has created and empowered a culture of mistrust and disrespect that leaves staff members feeling burnt out and frustrated. The refusal to accept responsibility for poor planning and execution results in constant scrambling with not clear direction. This is not a path to success yet it is the path Bodybuilding.com’s leadership forges day in and out. Cutting costs and maintaining a stranglehold on strategic direction in hopes of doing just enough to hit top line goals is not only disrespectful to the passionately dedicated staff that work each day to be the best at what they do. It is also self-defeating in that a continual refusal to meaningfully respect and support staff members results in poorer company performance. The company is on a terrible trajectory, made only worse by the behavior of Bodybuilding’s leaders who continue to drive out talent while actively refusing to recognize the systemic failures that are causing it. Amongst all of the shifting priorities, unclear direction, the disengaged CEO who has given the direction of the company over to horrific leaders one thing is abundantly clear....things will continue this way and will only get worse.

    Pros

Great 401K Match, Great Benefits, FTO, (Although, at one point we had to write our name on an 8ft by 10ft White Board Calendar for days we were taking off. Usually wouldn't be an issue, until the statement of "We will see who wants to keep writing their name up there" was made), Gym

    Cons

Serious Micromanagement (other departments asking to be included in marketing planning, not for visibility but for approval, seemingly pulling mandate outside of their area of focus). Lack of trust in mid-level management and specialist level. Complete lack of knowledge in processes and workflow complexities. Short-term leadership outlook. Leaders lack tact (C-Suite employees stating they "forget what it's like to be one of you" from a stage at an all-hands meeting). Monotonous work (sale, sale, sale), churning and burning eCommerce discounts, which pulls time and resources away from things that should be number one priority (content, subscriptions, etc.). Customer-first focus is whimsical, not tangible.
