Pros

Great idea. Customers who actually try the product tend to like it and stay loyal. The fuel drivers are a great crew--they work hard and enjoy taking care of the customers. This is a great job for people who would normally be driving 7 days a week with few benefits and not nearly as much excitement as what you see in an early stage startup.

Cons

From a high-level, this is a gas delivery business. And that's just not very exciting. Internally there are lots of problems. Sure, every company has petty stuff going on. Cliques and drama. Unfortunately, in this place, the CEO and other leaders ("leaders") take it to the next level. They listen to the wrong people, both inside and outside of the company. They never have your back, and everyone is replaceable. In this negative environment, lots of people quit or get fired. Just search LinkedIn for all of the dead bodies left by the road. You can't have that much turnover and not have major internal morale problems. People don't leave jobs, they leave people. And this place has a major people problem.

Pros

The majority of the employees at Booster are hard working, mission driven, and team oriented. Finance, Policy, and Product/Engineering are especially strong and are the bouys that keep Booster afloat. Cannot speak highly enough about the rank and file.

Cons

The non-technical founders exhibit an arrogance that borderlines delusion. Whether it's their callous disregard for their employees (see: executive (CBO, CMO) & team firings or turnover in general) or the belief that a start-up simply needs to reside in the SFBA and call itself a tech-company to deem its product/service as differentiated, Booster is a failure on both accounts. Unfortunately, Booster is neither a tech company, nor differentiated, as its exact "solution" has existed for 50+ years. That said, when many share similar ideas on changing an industry it comes down to execution; something Booster and their founders have fumbled with and consequently explained away for years.

Pros

Competitive compensation package (salary, employer paid benefits, company stock purchasing options)

Cons

I am not sure where to start because this was the most awful experience I have ever encountered. I interviewed and was offered a position with this company. I submitted all necessary references and other documentation and was told I was good to go. An entire month passed (three weeks prior to my start date), and I received a call stating my offer was being re-sended. I received about 5 different reasons as to why over a series of calls from so called professionals at this company: 1. my references were negative 2. my references weren't negative but didn't align with what the role was seeking 3. my start date 4. possibly something in my background (obviously racially motivated) 5. seeking a different direction for the role Needless to say I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. The company doing this three weeks before my start date not only altered my entire life, it added an insurmountable amount of stress. I was relocating to another state for this role, so for this to happen 3 weeks before my start date was beyond devastating. DO NO APPLY TO WORK FOR THIS TOXIC COMPANY

Hello, your feedback and comments have been received. They have illuminated a number of opportunities for us to improve on, expand training around, and truly consider. The recruiting process is complex and relies heavily on compliance pieces that must pass our new hire requirements for a successful hire process. We use this same requirement standard for each and every candidate. We are sorry this was a negative experience for you, at Booster we strive to ensure this process is positive for all new candidates.
