Used to be a great company, but it has lost focus now

Pros

remote working work / life balance good purpose

Cons

Significant leadership changes over the past year have caused a lack of strategic direction. The strategy changes constantly, the focus on creating a great and inclusive culture is gone. Great career opportunities for those who stroke the egos of senior leaders and founder.

Pros

This is a mission-driven company. Their mission is to make every home in Australia sustainable. That's the main reason to join. Remote-first company. Generous maternity leave.

Cons

Brighte was an innovative technology-driven company until May'2022. Then, then laid off massive amount of people and slashed projects. The grand plans of changing the world are gone. It is not just another financial company going through a challenging time and fighting for survival. Technology platform is ageing, and there is no clear strategy to replace or improve it.

Strong Team Culture Overshadowed by Office Politics

Pros

Brighte has a genuinely friendly and collaborative work environment. Colleagues are approachable, supportive, and always willing to help one another. The culture within teams makes day-to-day work enjoyable, and there are many talented people across the business who care about delivering good outcomes.

Cons

Communication and transparency from leadership can sometimes feel inconsistent, with concerns or feedback occasionally being brushed off rather than properly addressed. Recognition can also be lacking, as the people doing the actual groundwork are not always the ones acknowledged for results or successes. There is also a noticeable culture among some offshore and team managers of prioritizing optics and maintaining favor with CEOs or department heads instead of advocating for their teams and addressing operational realities on the ground.

Thank you for sharing this. It's clear you care about Brighte, and that comes through in your feedback. The warmth and calibre of the people here is something we're proud of, and it's genuinely the foundation of how we work. Our leadership team is committed to sharing updates in the moment and keeping people informed as things unfold. We know that consistent communication across a growing business takes ongoing effort, and it's something we're always looking to strengthen. The hard work people put in doesn't go unnoticed, even when it isn't celebrated publicly. We believe in recognising contribution meaningfully, and we'll always look for ways to do that better. The fact you've been here 5 years and still wrote this with care tells us something - we appreciate the feedback.
