Pros
Prior to retiring in 2018 I felt that BM were a superb company, great people, great work ethic and the staff were appreciated by senior management.
Cons
The number of redundancies and the number of staff leaving since 2018 suggests the new management have failed to maintain the ethos of Chris Macdonald the firms founder.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Brooks Macdonald full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
There are none to be fair
Cons
This was the most stressful, unpleasant and unprofessional firm that Ive ever worked for in my 20 years in the city. The management decisions that were made were baffling at times as some teams in the back office were left massively understaffed whilst other areas had ten times the head count with a fraction of the work loads. Staff members were made ill as a result of stress caused by high workloads and there was zero support from management. The IT systems were terrible and at least one system would go down or play up every single day. We were effectively told to lie to clients when things were busy and one manager even boasted about comitting insurance fraud which really shocked me. There was a huge lack of professionalism in the way the back office was run and if your face didnt fit then your time was numbered, despite your work ethic or abilities at doing your job. In fact people that did very little seemed to be praised and rewarded more than others which I found bizarre. There was no incentive to work harder or help others and we were treated like children and micro managed on a daily basis. In short I wouldnt wish this experience on my worst enemy!
