    I worked at CMA CGM America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    I made some great friends there and there are a lot of young people there. It's a good industry and a great way to get your foot in the door. There are always openings in different departments so you can easily move around and learn different things. The health benefits were really great actually.

    Cons

    I really enjoyed CMA CGM when I was first hired but over the years they started to move some of the job duties overseas to India to a shared service center. My department was at risk of layoffs but some people left the department so in the end nobody was let go. Having to share some of the job duties with the shared service center was difficult because of the learning curve for them. I switched departments so not sure if it got better or worse but even my new department down the road started to shift some of the job duties overseas. The pay was not good for the amount of crap you had to deal with. Some positions were paid more just because they had a "fancier job title" but the pay grade for some of the lower paid roles didn't match considering the amount of work that was required of them which was actually more than the higher paid ones.

    Pros

    PTO and Benefits are amazing. The culture can be hectic but that’s because it’s an international company.

    Cons

    Training could be better, but’s nothing really.

    no career growth, all of he departments are understaffed and management is THE WORST. If you want to get a promotion be friends with someone who is upper management.
