      Ok but never felt permanent

      Pros

+ Possibility to work on many different projects. This is only sort of a plus as you really have to fight to work on the projects you find interesting. I was put on a lot of projects I had no interest in, then when I did well I was rewarded with more work I didn't want to do. Eventually I got involved with interesting work but it felt like swimming upstream. + Good co-workers, this depends though on everyone's situation. I liked my boss quite a bit. + Fairly good work resources for analytics. They are starting to move in a better direction for using data productively and providing tools for employees.

      Cons

      - Pay was low. Cadmus really wants to pay employees the least amount they can get away with, not how much an employee is worth. This is most likely a factor in the high turnover I saw. - Work/life balance is poor and you are expected to work +40 hours consistently with managers working through holidays and regularly working on weekends. It just sets a bad precedence for other employees. - Not very much emphasis on innovation or efficiency. All the emphasis is on bill-ability.

      Great people, disorganized company

      Pros

Wonderful, talented, driven people. Some teams are really great and are able to shield their members from the insanities of upper management.

      Cons

Little concern for work-life balance, don't care if you're consistently working 60 hours a week and burning out, only care if you're meeting your billability targets.

Great company to develop new skills while improving current ones

      Pros

Offices all over the country with flexibility on working from other offices or from home. Cadmus employs engineers, economists, finance specialists, marketers, etc. for all the various projects, so there's a unique opportunity to develop new skills and learn from very smart and experienced people.

      Cons

Work-life balance due to the nature of consulting work. Also, upper management tends to be short-sighted when it comes to investing in tools to help employees improve their quality of work.

      Beware the Consulting Culture

      Pros

Everyone I met at Cadmus are very capable people. I really enjoyed being able to talk with some of my coworkers about complex issues.

      Cons

Work/Life balance is terrible. There were times where I was working 12-hour days every week and it was exhausting. Cadmus does not offer many opportunities for growth. It felt like a sink or swim environment. Cadmus does a poor job at matching tasks with people's skill sets. While working at Cadmus, I felt like my skill set was not effectively utilized. It seems that Cadmus does not value their employees. Cadmus has poor project management that leads to some people working absurd hours while others have no work. It's clear that Cadmus wants to be the next Booz Allen, but they can't pay their employees what their worth in comparison to how much they work.

      Lackluster

      Pros

Everyone is generally pleasant. Leadership isn't too demanding or micromanaging. Interesting work. Committed to growing the organization and becoming a leader in the social good space. Making the right moves and hiring the right staff to do so.

      Cons

Typical growing pains of a business trying to make it and compete with the big firms.Lack of transparency with staff and incredible lack of communication and disorganization in processes and practices. Everyone does their own thing with no accountability. Cross country offices can't coordinate or account for time differences. Remote offices are often disregarded as an after thought. Offices spaces are dingy. Lots of people are frustrated. Work-life balance is great for some who never have to work weekends and the reverse for others. No consistency across organization and levels.

      Great learning environment

      Pros

Interesting project work and opportunities to hone current skills and develop new ones for motivated go getters. Great benefits and smart, caring colleagues.

      Cons

Salaries are low compared to other industries. Poor project management has led to project overruns that affect all employees unfairly and results in executive teams putting significant emphasis on revenue growth and billability above all else including personal growth and work/life balance. This, along with terrible communications from upper management, has led to widespread low moral.
