I have been working at Canadian Natural Resources full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

Great land base. Stock savings plan would be great if the stock was any good.

      Cons

Salary freeze since 2014. Very little support for training. Extreme aversion to risk stifles innovation. Systemic indecisiveness in management creates an infuriating amount of rework.

I have been working at Canadian Natural Resources full-time for more than 9 years

        Pros

-Ability to move up within the company as there are many opportunities -Mentorship available if you seek it (depends on manager) -Good opportunities to learn from senior coworkers -One of the best corporate cultures- people are generally nice and willing to help. No toxic environment unless you dont know how to get along with people.

        Cons

-Lack of clear path on job progression -Lower than average pay, will take advantage of you if they can -Compensation system involves a lot of stock and stock options that vest over a long period of time, were talking years..just gives us CASH, dont keep dangling that carrot! You spend money buying us shares and options, why dont you just make your employees happier by giving them cash? -There's no clear bonus calculation...

        Advice to Management

If you would like to retain your hard working, high-performing employees, you should be willing to work with them to keep them happy. Otherwise you only retain the lazy, less productive ones.

        Pros

Company has excellent benefits with lots of holidays and share options. Pension is less than other operators and bonus is split between a smaller cash option and shares which vest to you over a 5 year period and you lose if you leave the company.

        Cons

The company has a very flat structure which no career progression plans or opportunities. Pay rises are far and few between.
