    Pros

A disorganized Zoo and you better not have any type of life like real humans, this company expect you to not have a life or anything else to do during the last 5 days of the month, that's bologna! As long as the infamous buddy system is active, don't expect HR to do anything about anything. Folks are exiting left to work for their competitors who are thriving. Most Showrooms (not all) are UNACCEPTABLE, they should feel embarrassed for their customers who are expecting to be wow'd when they come see what they have to offer. Check out their competitors Showrooms and you do the comparison. During your interview ask lots of questions about the work environment and ask to speak to current employees before accepting an offer, any company that do not honor your request is not one you should be working for, they conduct reference checks on you so you ask for references from current employees.

    Cons

    - Streamline internal processes to a paperless environment.
    - Demote or reassign Managers and Supervisors who have no experience what so ever in managing people nor adding value to the success of the organization and the company as a whole. Work life balance and caring about other people's time should be human nature and should be a shared best practice across the Company.
    - Conduct annual 360 feedback anonymously and actually implement a plan to act on the feedback!!
    - Supervisors need training on how to properly conduct annual performance reviews.
    - Implement HR pop-up visits to various offices by region and conduct research on why certain offices are losing more employees than others.
    - Stop the practice of making people buy their own monitors.

    Advice to Management

Stop allowing upper management to allow corporate bullying from middle management.

    Pros

You can gain considerable experience at Canon, both positive but most negative, to bring with you as you continue your career path elsewhere.

    Cons

During my career I have worked with several large companies, including Canon, which I found to be a very poorly run, unprofessional organization. Processes and systems are extremely laborious prohibiting ground-level employees and management the ability to focus on general business functions. While still using Lotus Notes, as well merging two data systems in to one home-grown data base, they cut corners in every direction. There is very little autonomy with a pedantic upper-management approach. I.e. The Vice President will stand over an employees’ desk to track their time away from their desk using a stopwatch. That same VP refers to the employees as, “Jimmy, Janie and Johnny”. Training is substandard in many departments and at many levels justifying a very low retention rate. You can gain considerable experience at Canon, both positive but most negative, to bring with you as you continue your career path elsewhere.
